Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

"Bloomers, ya know, unders what I wear? Hold on..."

She undoes her trousers and pulls them down quickly to demonstrate.

"See, they've got a bit o' leg to 'em."

Fionna had forgotten she had seen Sette in these before, and got a better look at them.

"You know, those actually looks pretty comfortable. Maybe I should just wear those instead of my regular PJs!"

Sette pulled her pants back up and redid the drawstring.

"Not my pair, you ain't! I need'em, and they wouldn't fit your flabby butt nohow."

[fionna_time]

"I don't want yours, it'd have lice in 'em!" Fionna shot back, glaring. "I'll make my own! And anyway, my butt ain't flabby, its just round ok?!"

"There's a difference?" she asked, teasingly. "Sides, I dunno what you get so bent out of shape over. All it means is you'd be good for childbearin'."

[fionna_time]

"Well yeah, flabby is out of shape and round is...round! There's totally a difference!"

Whoa, someone's red. "Yeah, I'm not really thinking about that junk anytime soon."

"Me neither," Sette said fiercely. "More like 'ever' for me, though! I mean, I'm prolly too skinny to do it properly anyway. Not that I care."

[fionna_time]

"You're skinny now, but that might change," Fionna said, slightly envious of the bloomers now. "Why wouldn't you care anyway?"

"'cuz poppin' out babies is a mugs game!" Sette said loudly and proudly. "Ain't nobody take you serious when you gotta spend nine months outta the year laid up an' the rest sucklin' with a babe at yer teat! I intend to avoid that altogether."

[fionna_time]

"Oh, I dunno man. I don't want one now, you know, cuz I'm an adventurer and junk. But maybe one day, I guess, I might want a kid of my own, a little adventurer to carry on our awesomeness!"

Granted, she'd have to actually DO stuff with a guy for that, but she'd think about it later.

Sette stared at her blankly. "Ya disappoint me. I didn't take ya for such a sucker."

[fionna_time]

Fionna scoffed. "Hey, you can be all happy with being all solitary talk stuff. I don't hate kids. I hang around with you all the time!"

[swarmoflies]

"Havin' kids is like stickin' yourself in one of them corset dresses. Tons o' pain an' inconvenience without a single sem o' benefit. Total mug's game. An' don't call me a kid."

[fionna_time]

"Dude, you're a kid, whatever the heck you say. And since you weren't hatched from an egg, you were born too, or you wouldn't be here in the first place. What if your dad thought you didn't have any benefit? You wouldn't be here."

"Oh, men can have all the kids they want. It ain't coming out from between their legs, after all."

[fionna_time]

"But then they can't have the kids, girls do. So if you want a kid, you really have to commit to it. I dunno if I ever will, but I kinda think about it sometimes. I dunno. I like kids, annoying as they are."

[swarmoflies]

"Exactly. When a dude wants a kid, all he's gotta do is find a lady and knock her up. It don't cost him nothin'. But that ain't the same for you and I."

[fionna_time]

"Nah, I guess not," Fionna said, looking, frankly, perturbed by this argument. Since when did Sette start actually having conversations like this and make sense.

"As long as we're here though, we don't really have to worry about it!"

Oh, this was something Sette had spent plenty of time thinking about. It was something she'd have to deal with if she was supposed to take over her father's business, after all.

"True enough, 'less the Queen decides to magic a brat inside of us. Which she damn well better not."

[fionna_time]

"Nah! She wouldn't do that, would she? Why would she wanna? The closest she came to that was the egg thing, right?"

She wouldn't...do that, would she?

"Why's she wanna do any of this? I dunno. You don't know. Nobody knows! So who can say?"

[fionna_time]

Well that was unsettling.

"Uh, why don't we get back to havin' fun? What else do we do at sleepovers anyway?"

"I dunno," Sette said. "I don't even really know what one is. How's a cove to party if he's aslumbering?"

[fionna_time]

Fionna nodded, then looked confused. "Wait, what's a cove?"

Urgh, another failure to communicate. Sometimes Sette swore that Fionna had engineered her grasp of Continental to be as frustrating as possible. "A body, a fella, a dude, a person."
