Just as Subaru had announced, the Inn was laid out for a grand old party and everyone was invited! The first floor had wall panels opened for two large rooms for mingling; one with food and music, the other with a few different games (and space for anything people might bring in)!

The hot springs are also ready as always, with towels and buckets and such all set out, in case someone wanted a nice relaxing soak in the otherwise chill night air.

For those staying the night, the second floor has been closed off to offer as much privacy as possible, with futons laid out as they were intended, four to a room. It might be too cold and dark to go home after midnight, after all, and Subaru will not kick anyone out.

The only thing she seems to have forgotten is fireworks... but that doesn't mean sparks can't fly at midnight.

A gloom had come over many of her friends, and it was bringing Fionna down...almost. After all, the weather was changing, and there was something about the way the weather had changed that made Fionna feel happy. If her friends weren't going to be happy, she could at least try for them, right?

And what was the best way to do that but to try to get into a festive mood? Fionna was in the gardens, putting flowers in her hair, her hair combed neatly and flowing a little longer than usual out of her hat. It would have surprised even Cake back home: she had never looked this primped up.

Of course, this would have actually been a good idea to look at Alice's post, but like most alerts, Fionna had missed them and was walking around the gardens, seeing what food she could gather in the treefort later. True, she was really only there half the time, but you never knew what you would need later, right?

Summary: Jessica gets her nightmare on.

Jessica blinks awake, unmoving.

She's above the bedcovers and her nightclothes again, naked, ghostly, and curled in the fetal position. She breathes steadily, counting four in, eight out, until her heart stops trying to batter itself through her sternum.

It's not her room. That is, it's not her room at home. It's her room at Beaumont, in the Gardens.

Just a dream.

Gradually, her body calms, and her form solidifes again, descending gently back to the mattress. She sighs and slips her clothing back on, then stands. No way she's getting back to sleep just yet.

Bulbasaur grunts in sleepy confusion as Jessica scoops her up and hugs her, but after a half-awake shuffling into a more comfortable position falls asleep again. Jessica rests her cheek on the pokemon, enjoying the feeling of someone else solid and alive, then goes to the kitchen.

Nightmares call for a glass of milk and a slice of that cake she baked the other day.

Characters: Fionna and Amamiya/anyone who is watching.
Date: A week after all the craziness.
Summary: After everything is said and done, Fionna has decided it was best to start sharpening her skills again.
Warnings: Fighting/possible flirting (with Amamiya involved certainly), otherwise none.

It was no good to keep acting as if knowing what she knew was ok. The skeleton guys had been tough, and in the end Fionna had to be patched up pretty good. Yes, it was great that she had survived, that she had a hand in defeating the snake. But Fionna knew when she could do better, and without Cake to guide her, she was going to have to set her OWN time and training.


So once she had recovered she was outside her house, stretching and getting ready. On the floor beside her were several swords of different shapes and sizes, hers being blood red and making the normally sweet looking bunny hatted girl look actually imposing. She drew it, getting into stance and started to swipe, low, then high, middle, and high and low and shake thing up all over again. With each swing Fionna sweated a little, glad to have her muscles in use right now.

Belarus has spent the past few days exploring the gardens. She has tramped to and fro, making her presence known to all. She makes no secret of her goal to get out of there and reunite with her beloved big brother in a ceremony of matrimonial bliss. After a while it has become clear that sticking to the normal paths just will not cut it.

Soon, she discovers a way out, all it took was a left turn at a certain tree and walking alongside a particular giggling stream. The air grows oppressive and sweet. She sees wolves prowling about. Even after encountering the creatures of the garden she is still wary of them. The nation keeps her distance from them. They growl at her, but don’t try to stop her.

She pushes her way into the jungle, swatting aside offensive branches and stepping over deceptive roots. At one point she stops to look at the ground. She recalls being told that it can be used for construction. Belarus kneels down, her skirt scraping against the earth as she scoops up a couple of handfuls. It might be useful later if she was not being lied to.

Belarus pushes forward as the jungle changes around her. It is denser, thicker, like it is trying to bar her way. She uses pure brute force to make her way through. Something grabs her hair. She struggles, pulling at the attacking vine with her hands. Another loops itself around her left hand. Belarus is not going to go easily and she keeps on fighting for as long as she possible can before the many vines are able to overcome her.

Sometime later a wolf drags an unconscious Belarus back into the gardens.  Leaving her under a tree for someone else to deal with.

Summary: Birthday party! Subaru turns 22, and her friends return the favor with a bit of a surprise party.

It's really difficult to surprise Subaru when it comes to things happening at the inn. But today she was out of the house long enough for her friends to gather and set up a surprise party for her!

The walls have been pushed open to allow for larger spaces for playing, dancing, and eating, and there are a few decorations and tables with snacks laid out all around.

And, of course, there is cake! Though it doesn't look like anyone can jump out of this one, though...

The Caves of the Arimoi are an extensive network of caverns, winding through the earth. Who maintains the torches which light each passage with a dim and flickering luminescence? Who placed here these treasure chest, filled with artifacts both ancient and obscure? What is it even doing here, as it is clearly not part of the Queen's domain? Nobody knows, or at least nobody is answering. But here it is nonetheless, and it is both ancient and strangely beautiful.

You are not alone in these caves, however. Echidna's children lurk, jealously guarding treasures and preying on unprepared explorers. Here a woman with the lower boidy of a dragon lurks, vicious teeth dripping with venom. There, a formless, shapeshiting mass strikes out with its terrible barbed whip. There, hydras and chimaerae patrol, and in some places the beautiful woman you stumble across may not be what she seems...

How are you supposed to make nice with creatures like these? That's up to you to figure out.

Summary: Katina's birthday party! Expect music, colors, cavities, and maybe some drinking.

Here is hoping that no one lives in The Abbey or, at least, they don't mind when Subaru and her crew of girls take over the main hall in order to dress it up and set up for today's birthday bash. Tables lined with all manner of snacks, desserts, and drinks line the sides of the area. Stone benches rearranged to seat most everyone facing in a loose circle toward the center, where a makeshift wooden stage has been prepared for today's entertainment. Colorful streamers, banners, and other decorations have been wrapped around the columns, catching the tinted light from the glass windows above. One great big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATINA!!" rests above the most comfortable chair in the place.

Last, but not least, there are some party games set aside for the event. Cards, board games, beanbag chairs for lounging, and even a familiar colored mat is present, if you feel like testing your dexterity and balance!

Everything about this should be bright and warm; a welcoming sight and one that encourages mingling and, above all, fun! So get out there and have some fun, and don't forget to send your wishes to the birthday girl!

Subaru is... suspiciously absent once everything has been set up. Perhaps she'll return when it comes time to cut the cake?
