Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

Sette burst into cackles. "Did you come up with that on the spot, or were you sittin' on it for a while?"

[fionna_time]

"On the spot! Least I'm not calling people ugly! What the crud?"

Oh yeah, remember when Sanae was trying to organize the party for Fionna's depression? No? That's ok, no one else really did either!

Sette is pretty clearly the best friend.

"Don't blame your ugly on me. Not me fault."

[fionna_time]

"Ugly like your face!"

Actually, being called ugly was kinda hurtful, but no way is Fionna letting Sette know that!

Sette honestly didn't care about being called ugly. Because she knew that she wasn't, and anyway a tough crime boss didn't need to be pretty.

"I happen ta know that I've the face o' an angel."

[fionna_time]

Well crud. How was this fair? She could be called ugly but she couldn't do it back?

"Then stop callin' me that," Fionna said, turning her head away. "It sucks."

"Awww, you gonna cry?" Sette said, getting right up in her face. "Big baby's gonna cry?"

[fionna_time]

To answer that, Fionna gave the girl a pretty loud raspberry noise.

"Ya know, if you wanna be like this, I COULD tell everyone how you reacted to a little bath, Miss-I'm-crying-because-I-gots-a-little-soap-in-my-eyes!"

"I did not cry!" Sette protested indignantly. "It just hurt, alright?"

[fionna_time]

"Dude, you were cryin' and whining about it with every minute it took! And come on, shampoo in your eyes? It's not that bad!"

"I did not!"

[She stomps on Fionna's foot. Hard. Looks like Fionna struck a sore spot.]

[fionna_time]

"Augh! Ah, what the NUTS did you do that!?"

[Fionna is now hopping on one foot. What kind of party WAS this?!]

"Not my fault you cried about the shampoo!"

"I. Did. Not. Cry!"

She grabs Fionna's shirt and hauls her in to try and look as intimidating as possible.

"And you best not be tellin' any different!"

[fionna_time]

Fionna, of course, is nice, but not THAT nice.

After all, Sette had been pretty severe the whole night.

She met Sette face to face. "Then quit callin' me fat, Sette. It sucks!"

Never one to back down from a fight, Sette stood her ground stubbornly.

"I'll quit callin' ya fat when I can't use ya for shade no longer!"

[fionna_time]

"Go get your own shade!" Fionna answered back.

Really, this was one of those things she was going to have to work on anyway. She wasn't going to go and start losing weight anytime soon, but she till did feel insecure about it.

"That didn't even make sense!"

Well, it didn't.

[fionna_time]

"Yeah it does! If I'm your shade go somewhere else! Quit calling me fat, I don't even eat that much!"

Unless its good, then she'll eat a lot. But right now she's actually stung.

[swarmoflies]

"...ugh. This ain't even good sport. I barely even have ta wave the bait an' you're snapping at it. You always this simple, or do ya try at it?"

In fact, Sette was starting to wonder if she was getting suckered somehow. Nobody could but this impressionable...right?

[fionna_time]

Wait, she was messing with her? The whole time? What the heck dude? And calling her simple...

But that was it, wasn't it? She wanted to mess with Fionna, make her angry and laugh because she could. What could Fionna say to that?

"Least I can still write and read. Don't even need a tail for that, and I don't have to pretend they're not useful!"

Fionna, what the...?

...she sighs.

"Look, I see what yer goin' for, but that ain't how you go about it. Look, you're kinda an embarrassment, so I'll take you under me wing a bit. Teach ya the art o' a real killer insult."

[fionna_time]

Fionna wrinkled her nose. Seriously, this is the worse slumber party ever. For something that was supposed to brighten her spirits they feel pretty bad.

"I'm not an embarrassment. I'm just not used to all these people and insults and junk. Where I'm from, if we fight, we do it with our fists, we don't start using demon powers or start calling people fat!"

She was listening, she was just annoyed about it.

"If you got demon powers ya should prob'ly use them, that sounds awesome. Anyway, first thing you gotta do's stop takin' everything so personal. Only reason I keep callin' ya fat is that it makes you jump higher'n a goosed ogre."

A pause.

"Well, that an' the fact that you could kill me by sittin' on me."

[fionna_time]

"I should kill you by sittin' on you," Fionna said grumpily. The truth was she could take any insult and laugh if Cake was here. It was a balance between the two of them, riffing on each other. Without that Fionna felt lost.

She sighed. "Kinda hard not to take things personal when you feel like you don't belong, you know?"

[swarmoflies]

"Nope. You gotta stiffen yer upper lip. Don't get mad, get even! Hell, get even-er! Show 'em you ain't to be trifled with!"

Please disregard how hypocritical this is, considering how riled up she got earlier.

"An' when you go in for t'insult, don't just shout something that'd make you mad. Shout somethin' that'll make them mad! Like, fer me, I got no idea why you get so bent outta shape about yer weight. But it works, don't it, so who cares?"
