Summary: New Years Eve party at the Inn / Onsen

Just as Subaru had announced, the Inn was laid out for a grand old party and everyone was invited! The first floor had wall panels opened for two large rooms for mingling; one with food and music, the other with a few different games (and space for anything people might bring in)!

The hot springs are also ready as always, with towels and buckets and such all set out, in case someone wanted a nice relaxing soak in the otherwise chill night air.

For those staying the night, the second floor has been closed off to offer as much privacy as possible, with futons laid out as they were intended, four to a room. It might be too cold and dark to go home after midnight, after all, and Subaru will not kick anyone out.

The only thing she seems to have forgotten is fireworks... but that doesn't mean sparks can't fly at midnight.

[ It's kinda cute. And awkward, but she's not sure what she's supposed to do about it, she's pretty comfy where she is. ]

"I guess I'm a bit bigger," she allowed, grabbing onto any chunk of conversation to divert away from her getting caught staring. This was so humiliating. "Taller, anyway."

She meant more about the. You know. Staring. "Taller's good, and it'll be easier to put on muscle and get stronger if you want to."

"If I wanna? Why wouldn't I wanna be able to put up better in a tussle? Like me Da always says, speed, wit and cleverness are all well and good, but there ain't no problem solver like a good smack to the gob."

"Yeah, I guess being pretty strong is a good thing. Just don't get so bulky that you can't still be quick, it's one of your good traits. You only need to be so strong to knock someone out if you know how to hit 'em." Katina can totally take a lot of bigger stronger guys, as long as they aren't kung-fu gods or anything.

"I wanna be like me cousin Knock. Well," she quickly corrected, "not exactly like her, 'cuz she's nuttier than a bat out at noon. But she's tough and don't take lip from nobody, and I admire that. Even if she is a complete pisspot."

"Tough, but sane. Can't say that you wanna be too totally sane, but that sounds pretty... uh... batty." Yeah she went there.

Sette deadpanned at that terrible pun. ANd then she splashed Katina.

"Tosser."

"Not a fan of puns, got it."

And then she splashed Sette back.

"Gah!"

Another, more violent splash. It's a good thing they're alone, or they might be getting some dirty looks.

"Not lame ones."

Thankfully. Katina knows a smidgen of onsen etiquette, but this is more fun. She splashes back again. "That one was... okay so it was bad."

Oh okay now we are in full splash-fight mode. Sette's going at it with both arms.

"Weren't even clever!"

"It was barely a pun!" And yet she's still defending herself over it, splashing back wildly now.

"Alright, that's enough!"

Sette was playing for keeps now, but she had to admit that Katina had her outmatched on account of size and arm length. It was time to get creative. She climbed up on the edge of the spring, legs still in the water, and began kicking, sending up an even stronger spray.

"Hey! Cheater!" Though Katina's got enough size and arm length to make it just about fair like this. She backs off through the water.

Sette laughed. "All's fair in war!"

She kept up the splashing, encouraged by Katina's retreat.

It was hard to fight back against a vantage point like that, so... Dipping into the water, she made a quick approach, before rising from beneath the surface to try and drag her in.

Sette gave a yelp as she was pulled beneath the water by her ankle. She fought and squirmed and tried to get away but let's face it - Katina was a lot better at hand-to-hand.

It doesn't take too much effort to put Sette in a full nelson once she's in the water. "All's fair huh?"

OH GOD all the uncomfortableness that had been banished by the silly splashfight was back with a vengeance. Those boobs were way too close way too close oh god they were touching her back.

"Leggo! Quit touchin' me, pervert!"

Ah yes, back to the old standard.

Puberty is a hell of a thing. Katina waits just a moment before giving Sette a shove. "You're the one thinkin' it."

"Was not," she protests but it sounds totally lame the moment it leaves her mouth. Lame and obviously dumb - she'd said it, hadn't she?

"'s not my fault you can't help yerself rubbin' up on me," she offered as a followup.

"Hey, you're still a few years too young for that." Just... quite a few. "Seriously though if you need me to give you some space, just say so."
