Summary: New Years Eve party at the Inn / Onsen

Just as Subaru had announced, the Inn was laid out for a grand old party and everyone was invited! The first floor had wall panels opened for two large rooms for mingling; one with food and music, the other with a few different games (and space for anything people might bring in)!

The hot springs are also ready as always, with towels and buckets and such all set out, in case someone wanted a nice relaxing soak in the otherwise chill night air.

For those staying the night, the second floor has been closed off to offer as much privacy as possible, with futons laid out as they were intended, four to a room. It might be too cold and dark to go home after midnight, after all, and Subaru will not kick anyone out.

The only thing she seems to have forgotten is fireworks... but that doesn't mean sparks can't fly at midnight.

Man, was Sette glad Katina understood. She was so sick of people in this place acting like her Da was some kinda bastard for tryin' to raise her right.

(Well, technically he was. But that wasn't what she meant)

"Blech, I'm startin' ta wrinkle before me time," Sette said, looking down at her pruney fingertips. It looked like bath time was almost over.

Kind of an asshole, Katina would admit, but he sounded better than what she saw friends dealing with growing up. "Yeah, who knows, if you stay in too long you might wrinkle for good."

Sette stood up, and then sat down on the edge of the bath. She wanted to get at least a few more seconds of immersion for her legs.

"Then I could run all over here and yon an' every cove'd respect the wisdom of me age," she said, nodding sagely.

"You'd be one of those really tiny old ladies who's all... wise and good at fighting or something." Those totally exist in enough stories to be a thing.

"Awesome."

Sette reached up and grabbed hold of her hair, squeezing out as much moisture as she could from it. The water dripped off of the tips and down her back.

"You almost done in there? I doubt yer farin' much better'n I."

Shrugging, Katina pulls herself partway out of the water. "Yeah, I guess I shouldn't boil myself too long."

With a quick push, she's up over the edge, arms over her head as she stretches, groaning as a joint pops.

Sette quickly looks away so as to not be caught staring. Dammit, why did Katina have to be so hot? This would be so much less awkward with basically anyone else.

She followed suit, pulling her legs out of the water and standing up straight. Her hair was...well, it wasn't dry by a long shot, but it wasn't dripping wet either. She then did her favorite stretching trick - popping her neck. It had taken her forever to learn to do it, but she thought it made her seem totally badass.

Oh right. Poor girl, just having such a hard time with Katina's incredible sexiness.

Katina raises an eyebrow at a pop that's totally unnecessary for a girl Sette's age, but nothing more. "Ah... that always feels good though."

Hey, you try being twelve and crushing on your older role model who is standing right there totally naked. It's no rose garden.

"I was skeptical at first, I'll cop t'that," she says as she grabs a towel. "But these baths really are properly soothing."

It sounds awkward, but it's also kinda cute and silly from Katina's end.

"Especially after a workout, or when the weather's cold, or both." A nice dip totally makes it all better.

She tossed the towel in Katina's direction, and grabs another for herself. She began to quickly dry out what water was left in her hair.

"Or a good screw, right?" she joked.

Katina grabbed the towel, quickly working it through her messy hair. "You can figure that out for yourself when you're a little older," she shot back.

Sette finished with her hair and began working the towel over the rest of her body, getting herself dry in a hurry.

"Oh, sure, leave it to me own curiosity t'find out," she said. "Ain't nothing can go wrong with that plan."

Drying her own body thoroughly, Katina casually started to twist the towel around in her hands.

"Oh, jeez, did I get you curious about it already?" ...not that Katina started all that much older. "I think I'd get some funny looks over that."

Her towel ended up in a tight twist.

"Yes, please teach me th'ways of yer bedroom arts," Sette said sarcastically. "Don't be dense."

She was facing away from Katina, and had no idea what was coming. In fact, just then she bent over to dry her shins off.

"You're a little below my age limit still." Which is probably too low anyways, but no one's made a big deal out of it...

Sette is pretty amazingly dense herself, though, and Katina can't help snickering as she draws her towel back, and aims a perfect snap at the girl's rear.

"I should hope so, child-lovack!"

Sette jumped up as the towel cracked against her bottom. Her tail shot straight up. She wheeled, rubbing her reddened cheeks ruefully.

"What the hell was that?" she demanded.

"Just a little trick I picked up in the locker room." She twirled the towel lazily - her improvised whip was tightly wound and ready for another if she really wanted, but that was probably enough if Sette didn't make a fight out of it.

"Akiha'd probably rip my hands off for that."

Sette took her eyes off that whip for only a moment, to try and inspect the mark it had left. Of course, getting an actual look at your own butt without a mirror was always tricky, but after twisting her head back and twisting her body around the other way, she confirmed to her satisfaction that no real damage had been done.

"Show me how to do that," she ordered.

Katina untwirled the towel, then spun it around a bit. "Just gotta get it a little wet, like when you dry yourself off." Then she takes both ends, twirling it quickly it and tightly. "You do that, and then you whip it."

Sette imitated her, twisting her wet towel as tightly as she could. "Like this?" she asked, whipping it in Katina's direction.

Katina steps away just out of reach. "Excellent my young padawan." Wait. Sette won't even know what that is.

Oh well.

Sette doesn't, but she's used to people spouting off words she isn't familiar with, so she doesn't question it. She hadn't been seriously trying to hit Katina anyway, so she instead cracks it against the ground a few times.

"Cor," she said, untwisting it so she could finish drying off. "I bet you could drop some real pain on someone if ya wanted with that. Good thing I ain't on yer list."

"It'll leave a nice welt if you hit hard enough." Which she's done, and had done to her. Piloting with a sore ass isn't fun.
