"Here, I think that's Sette!" Fionna said grinning, then made a face. "Well, her and that pink haired girl. She's the one that took me flying, but then she threw me in the water."

Why, she had no idea.

"I don't think I could ever think of this place as a dream," Fionna said, shrugging. "Too many people are nice here, and if you meet someone special, she'd mean a lot, you know?"

"Oh my gosh, I hope you were okay!" said Kazumi with a bit of worry. Well, it couldn't have been too bad since Fionna looked fine now, but still!

"Heheh, yeah... someone special," she murmured, blushing a little. Well, it wasn't like that... but Akira was still pretty darn special! And Fionna was awesome too, and a lot of the others she'd met! "That just makes me more sad that we'd forget... I'd never want to forget you guys!"

"I was kinda mad, since I thought she was just gonna show me flying," Fionna grumbled, looking more than a little cross. "But maybe she's all right, I dunno. I kinda wonder sometimes if its a bad thing I try to be pals so quickly."

Fionna shook her head. "Dude, I'm never forgetting! I look around and there's no junk from a war, and everything smells kinda nice, like no one's messed with the place. It's real hard to describe, but it feels fresh, you know?"

"Hehe, making friends is good! But yeah, you gotta be careful... some people aren't so friendly!" replied Kazumi as she munched through a sandwich triangle.

"Mm, yeah, I know what you mean! Asunaro city's pretty nice and clean, but this is all just so... fresh and natural!" she agreed. "It's almost unnatural how natural things are!"

"Yeah, I sorta found that out," Fionn said, almost dryly: sarcasm tended not to sound particularly believable from the bunny girl. "My first time here I met Ahika, and just for disturbing her she acted like a royal pain and called me not a lady. Not really the best first impression, for either of us!"

Fionna nodded. "I know but that's the weird part. This place is pretty strange anyway, when you have dirt that can make things to begin with. And that stuff with the queen and other people...its sorta like there's something boiling under the surface."

"Well, reaching out can be good! Some people just might not seem friendly at first, but are actually good people," Kazumi assured her. "I talked to Akiha once... she was pretty short with me too, but I think it's because of the thing with Akira..." The more she talked about it, the less she looked back on Akira's "kiss all the girls at the party" antics with favor... but it was hard to stay mad at her for very long.

"Yeah, it's like magic! I made a lot of my cooking stuff that way," chirped Kazumi happily. "The queen and the other people? I guess I haven't really heard from them much."

Fionna shrugged. "Yeah, Ahika is one of those royalty types who is really into acting like it. I dunno what will set her off next...wait, what thing with Akira?" Since when did Akira enter into anything? She would think those two wouldn't get along, Akiha was all hoity toity and Akira was...well, cool.

"Wait, you made the food with the dirt? I guess we have little choice though! But yeah, that queen stuff gets pretty confusing. I dunno what to do about that."

"Ahaha, well... I guess Akira kind of kissed Akiha, and Akiha got upset when she found out Akira kissed other people too," Kazumi explained, adding, "like me."

She flustered a bit at the misunderstanding. "Ah, no, no, no! I meant things like pots and pans and utensils, not the food itself! I got all that from the Orchard and the Pavilion."

Fionna looked...honestly somewhat put off by this. She knew Akiha was with Kris...and Katina...and now Akira? So why was she even getting upset about what Akira did? How exactly did the whole "dating more than one person" turn out anyway?

"Well she had no reason to be angry," Fionna finally said bluntly. "It's ok who you kiss as long as you're not hurting people. But whateves. Good plan on the stuff you cook foods in! What can you make?"

Kazumi didn't know anything about Akiha, so at least she only had to worry about Akira's side of it.

"Hahah I guess, though it might kind of look like leading her along," she reasoned. Well, she might have felt that way herself if she had tried to take her kiss with Akira more seriously afterward. "Hmm, mostly just basic stuff! Though I did and oven and stove, that was probably the hardest! Actually, I'm not sure I did it right..." Any engineer would probably despair at the magically heating surface and temperature box. "...but it works fine, so!"

Fionna made a face. "Lead her o-she should be the one worried about other people thinking they wee being lead! Whatever. Anyway, Akira is kinda hard to read though. She likes music and pretty girls though. If I can say anything about her, its that she's real good at details and noticing people. If she tells you you're pretty, you kinda melt into a ball of wax."

She would know.

"For reals? I did a stove too, but we should totes check out how they work side by side. Glad it works!"

"Eheheh, I know what you mean," said Kazumi with a little blush at the melting comment. Some days it was hard living with Akira, in a brain-meltingly good sort of way. She was gradually getting used to it! Enough that meals were still on time without too much distraction from the compliments.

"Yeah, that's one of the biggest things I needed! If you have a stove and an oven, you can cook almost anything!"

"But you know, I like her though," Fionna remarked. "She seems pretty down to earth, and I think if she can help someone, she'll do it. I feel like she's the kinda person that could really have fun if she had the chance!"

She nodded. "I used to have to do it on a spit when I first got here, so a stove and oven are totes a big help! Hey, what else can you make Kazumi?"

"Right? She's really reliable, but really cool about it!" Kazumi agreed as she plowed through another sandwich.

"An open fire, huh? That kinda limits what you can cook." She considered what else there was... she hadn't exactly tried to make many things, since she tried to avoid going near the wild places too often. "Hmm, mostly just the simple things like plates and cooking utensils and frying pans... oh, though I've had to make oil and wine for some recipes! I guess I did end up using the dirt for food..."

Fionna nodded. "I really kinda wish I could play like her too! She played some real nice jazz music, and she made so many awesome sounds come from it. It sorta reminded me of cake and her clarinet, but this was sorta different!"

"Well yeah, but the it was all, like, roasted apples and pies and junk like that. Now that we have all this other
stuff to cook with, we have to use it and make more food, you know? I gotta go to the library, find different things to make!"

"Oh, really? I haven't heard her play; I'll have to get her to do it sometime!" Kazumi said with a giggle. She could really easily imagine it, especially with that suit...

"I could definitely share some recipes with you!" she suggested. "In fact, I was thinking about making a cooking group for doing that sort of thing, you know? Teaching how to cook and sharing recipes!"

"I did, and she was pretty great! I've never really heard music like jazz before, kinda sounds like music from before the war in my world! I hope you get the chance to hear it sometime! Just ask her!"

Fionna nodded. "Yeah, I think Xion was even trying to do that once, so it'd be cool if we can all get together. trade different kinds of food to make and help other guys to make stuff!I'm sure we can get other people into it!"

She munched on one of the fruits. "It's a real pretty day out too. We can go to the arcade or do just anything!"

"I'll definitely make a note to do it," nodded Kazumi.

"Xion? I don't think I've met her... but yeah, Sayaka was saying there was a group like that before, so getting it started again would be good! It'd be a great way to make friends."

Kazumi looked around as she munched on her sandwich. "It really is, isn't it? Though... I don't think I've seen bad weather the whole time I've been here!"

"Yeah, she was getting people to try and cook too. I think we should all just get together, teach each other and other people so that we can ave something fun to do where we're not constantly fighting. And that way I can totes makes something for Amam..."

She trailed off, blushing slightly. "Well, you know, it'll be fun to get along with other people too! I'm glad its been so nice! Maybe there should be another beach day without the rum!"

"Heheh, yes!" agreed Kazumi, giggling as she caught that blush. "A lot of the fun of cooking is making things for your friends! Or loved ones~"

She nodded vigorously at the party suggestion. "Yeah, in the day too so there can be more swimming and playing!"

"Yeah well, y'know, whatever!" Fionna said, reddening slightly. "You can always make something for Akira too right? People always like it when you make food for them!"

Of course, Akira was miss smooth operator, so who knew what her business was?

"So now that we know that, what should we do in the meantime?"

"Yup! Well, I cook for her all the time now... but it makes her happy, so I'm happy!" Kazumi giggled.

"Well, if you're done eating, lemme just back everything up and we can head to the arcade, if you still want to! Or maybe do something outside since it's so nice~" But it was nice every day, so it's not like it'd be too much of a waste hitting the arcade instead. That had been the point of this date anyway.

"Yeah, she kinda seems like the type that won't go hungry," Fionna observed, "because she knows how to charm the pants off ya. In my worls, we'd say she's kinda smoove that way."

Oh right, the arcade! "Yeah man, let's totally go and get to the arcade! I know I said that it was a nice day, but maybe we can go and play in the sun afterward! Right now, I kinda wanna go and get my head into some cool games!"

"Ehehe, basically," Kazumi agreed.

"Yeah, awesome! I'll get everything cleaned up; if you could just fold the blanket!" she said as she started packing up the remaining food. They'd made a pretty huge dent in it, but it seems like she'd made too much anyway.

Fionna nodded, understanding all too well how important it was that everything be neat and tidy and back to the way it was. She folded it neatly and slung it in her book bag, ready to go.
