Extra Recipe: Bentou Boxing

Kazumi had spent most of the morning preparing for her day with Fionna in one way or another, picking what to wear or getting ingredients for the lunch. She'd also made sure to make extra for Akira, leaving it out on the counter with a note about where she'd gone.

In any case, Kazumi was waiting in front of the Orchard for Fionna, having just picked some fresh fruit to go with what she'd made. Hopefully the girl would arrive soon, since she was pretty excited about going to the Arcade today!

...and kind of hungry.

[fionna_time]

"Yeah, right here!" Fionna said, indicating the other button. "Just use it when you think you might fall, and remember to catch the butterflies, ok?"

[starofpleiades]

"Alright, trying! I think they might be fairies though..." Of course, trying to stare more closely at the screen brought the unicorn to its next untimely demise, and the game over screen. "Whoops... is 2170 points good or bad?" The decapitated unicorn head was a little off-putting, even if it was just a robot.

[fionna_time]

Fionna made a face. "Yeah, I guess I've been trying to block out that fact. I dunno if you were here for it, but we had to deal with a bunch of those faerie guys. And yeah, that's actually pretty good, man! I knew you'd be awesome!"

[starofpleiades]

"Oh, yeah, that was when I just got here," recalled Kazumi. "I kinda got swarmed at breakfast once. Alright, I'm gonna try again!"

Starting over, Kazumi was doing a lot better this time... and humming along with the music.

[fionna_time]

Fionna made a face. "I got turned into a bunny girl. In fact, a lot of the junk that happens to me is with me wearing real small clothing. It gets pretty annoying, actually."

She grinned. "I kinda like this song, don't you?"

[starofpleiades]

"Eheh, I think that'd be cute on you," Kazumi giggled. "Though sorry to hear about the small clothing!" Says the magical girl with probably the smallest clothing for a costume.

"It's kinda catchy, in a silly sort of way~"

[fionna_time]

"I didn't mind looking like a bunny or eating the veggies and stuff! That's sorta what Sanae calls cosplay. But that doesn't mean they gotta throw me in panty hose and this skintight thingie with no pants!"

Really, who does that?

"I dunno, I like it! I just sorta wish it was faster, you know?"

[starofpleiades]

"Oh, I guess it is like cosplay..." Cosplay as an actual casino bunny-girl, anyway.

"Maybe! It being so slow and dramatic is kind of what makes it funny though!"

[fionna_time]

Yeah, don't tell Fionna that. It would only make her more self conscious.

Fionna nodded. "Yeah, but I kinda think you might feel like that for somebody sometime, so its kinda cool!"

[starofpleiades]

"Heheh, that's true... though it would be kind of silly if I thought of rainbow robot unicorns when I did!" Exploding ones at that, as she mistimed a jump.

[fionna_time]

"Yeah, I dunno if I would like the song as much if it were about unicorns dying and junk," Fionna said. "At least this way its about something kinda nice even though you're doing something completely unrelated! It just fits!"

She found a place to sit, stretching a little. "Do you have video games in your world like this?"

[starofpleiades]

"Hahah, yeah, that might be a little depressing," she agreed.

"Yeah, I think so! I just don't play video games very often," Kazumi answered as she went for her second run. "Mostly, I hung out with friends and went out places!"

[fionna_time]

"And depressing equals a pretty boring time for all of us man," Fionna said. "We're supposed to be having fun!"

Fionna nodded. "That does sound pretty math! What did you guys do for fun? If its not anywhere here, we should probably make it, you know? Right here near the boardwalk!"

[starofpleiades]

"Eheh, mostly just hanging out, shopping, cafes, that sort of thing!" said Kazumi. "Oh, though I really wanted to take everyone to an amusement park! I didn't really get a chance though.... can we really make something that big?"

[fionna_time]

"Dude, have you seen my Tree Fort? Sure we could! All it would take would be some imagination, planning and patience! We could totally make a place like that! Imagine how much more fun it would be for the girls, to have a place to take dates or just be with friends and have fun! Would you ever wanna leave?"

[starofpleiades]

"Heheh, dates," giggled Kazumi, blushing a little. "In that case, a huge ol' Ferris Wheel is a must! I wonder if we could make roller-coasters too..."

[fionna_time]

"Yeah, dates!" Fionna said brazenly. "but a Ferris wheel is too slow! I'd want something fast that made my heart stop for a ride, and I want my girlfriend to be all about it too!"

[starofpleiades]

"That's what makes it romantic, geez!" said Kazumi, puffing up her cheeks in a pout for a moment. "But yeah, you seem like a roller coaster'd be more your thing! I wonder how hard it would be to make?"

[fionna_time]

"What's romantic about a wheel that only goes up and down though?" Fionna wondered, making a face. "A roller coaster get your blood pumping, makes you feel alive! I'd totes take a coaster over a wheel any day!"

Yeah, she'd probably have to see how it looked. "Maybe we can find some books and junk. I think we'd need it to get it right."

[starofpleiades]

"Well, the view, and the atmosphere... floating above the world, just you and them..." It made Kazumi blush just imagining it... with Akira, inevitably, as the first person to spring to mind, which made her guiltily blush even harder. "Just trust me on this!"

There was a bit of a panic as she almost crashed again, but she managed to rescue the unicorn from an untimely explosion this time. "Books, huh... is there a library here?"

[fionna_time]

Fionna laughed. "Ok, I will! Gotta find ways to keep my girlfriend happy! She might like it! I think you would too!"

She nodded. "Sure! It's real big too!"

[starofpleiades]

"Girlfriend? So you have like, an actual actual girlfriend now?" bubbled Kazumi excitedly, not even caring when the unicorn exploded this time. "Oh wow, oh wow!"

Books were totally forgotten by this revelation.

[fionna_time]

Fionna could scarcely believe it herself, but it was true!

"Yup, I do!" she said, smiling. "She's pretty awesome too! She is shy and all when it comes to sayin' that stuff, but you should see her if she has to fight, and she even defended me a few times! It's hard not to like her!"

[starofpleiades]

"She sounds really awesome," Kazumi agreed. "And cute too! Heheh, I'd probably tease her a lot if I were in your place, whoops."

[fionna_time]

"She's all that stuff and more!" Fionna piped up, smiling. "It's a little hard not to tease her, but I don't cuz she's sorta sensitive about that kinda stuff, even though she's older than me. Urd teases ME about not being able to...like, be more forward though. I'm just not used to doing that, you know?"
