Summary: New Years Eve party at the Inn / Onsen

Just as Subaru had announced, the Inn was laid out for a grand old party and everyone was invited! The first floor had wall panels opened for two large rooms for mingling; one with food and music, the other with a few different games (and space for anything people might bring in)!

The hot springs are also ready as always, with towels and buckets and such all set out, in case someone wanted a nice relaxing soak in the otherwise chill night air.

For those staying the night, the second floor has been closed off to offer as much privacy as possible, with futons laid out as they were intended, four to a room. It might be too cold and dark to go home after midnight, after all, and Subaru will not kick anyone out.

The only thing she seems to have forgotten is fireworks... but that doesn't mean sparks can't fly at midnight.

Nah, I get it, I don't know a lot about magic junk either, but it shoudl still work pretty good.

What does it do?

Gives her some protection if she's ever in a fight. I know she can probably cast it, but this ways she won't have to, and it can channel her own strength at a bad guy!

I'm just glad Subaru is doing this again! I guess things with her and Katina are going pretty well!

I fail to see how this correlates to Katina.

I guess I'm sorta just thinking about myself! I mean, I 'm pretty happy if nothing bad is messing me up, but when someone you like is really makin' you happy, you're like that to more people, you know?

I think that it's naive to assume the same applies to her or anyone other than yourself. Some things aren't so easily fixed. [There was some bite to Akiha's words at the end, though she's not even looking at Fionna when she says as much.]

{Ok, so even she can see why Akiha would say something like that, and had even been told that Ahika had some time with Katina. She couldn't begin to understand that right now, liking more than a person, but this was something she knew was more than just a simple annoyance].

I guess. I mean, it can't fix anything, but it can help when you feel you're not that great a person, or you're down. Unless, you know, they...

[She thought about this a moment, lost in thought. No way. Couldn't be, right?]

Well, you know, if that person did somethin to betray your trust. That sorta makes you just doubt everything.

Not that it would happen with you, right? Cuz Kris would totally tell you everything.

No, no, Kris has always been faithful to me. I was referring to Katina.

But then that would mean-

[Oh, oh it dawned on her now. It had been hard enough, getting used to the idea that girl's could have more than one relationship. It was still strange, considering how much work she out into just ONE. But now she knew, without a doubt, that this instance had been different. Katina had been playing one of her friend's girlfriend and one of the people she had liked the moment she got here. Without thinking about it, she had clenched her fist underwater. The worse was the realization that she had known about it and it never once occurred to her someone was lying in all of this].

Why would she do that? To you, to Subaru? That's just...just evil. Man, that ticks me off! You-you don't just play with people like that!

Tch. Subaru and I didn't know about each other. That was the problem. Kris was always aware of Katina.

[Akiha looked away.] So if you wonder why things are tense around Katina, now you know. Don't gossip about it.

I know that now, I sorta thought you did. I thought there was, I dunno, some arrangement with that.

[shakes her head] Do I seem like I'd go and talk about that personal stuff with other people?

Yes. You're not very skilled in watching what you say.

[fionna_time]

That doesn't mean I'm gonna talk about people's personal stuff!

Who would even do that?

[ritsu_kouyou]

People who gossip. [If Akiha rolled her eyes, she would be doing it then.]

[Fionna frowned, sinking into the water].

Well that's for people who like doing that stuff. Maybe I sometimes say the wrong stuff, but not when its about this. That would hurt Subaru anyway.

[And Akiha, but she wasn't going to correct Fionna, not wanting to admit such to the girl.]

That proves you have a survival instinct. This isn't the same kind of matter as that.

It feels like the same thing. People's personal junk is their junk. No one should have people talkin' about that.
