Really should know better.

Summary: Mistletoe mischief! Also, I had just missed the one last year:(

A gloom had come over many of her friends, and it was bringing Fionna down...almost. After all, the weather was changing, and there was something about the way the weather had changed that made Fionna feel happy. If her friends weren't going to be happy, she could at least try for them, right?

And what was the best way to do that but to try to get into a festive mood? Fionna was in the gardens, putting flowers in her hair, her hair combed neatly and flowing a little longer than usual out of her hat. It would have surprised even Cake back home: she had never looked this primped up.

Of course, this would have actually been a good idea to look at Alice's post, but like most alerts, Fionna had missed them and was walking around the gardens, seeing what food she could gather in the treefort later. True, she was really only there half the time, but you never knew what you would need later, right?

"Beats me!" Fionna replied, still struggling. "This bonks! Why can't we move?!"

She grimaced, then fell to her knees, growling.

"Aw man, if this is one of those queen things..!"

"OH I just bet it...oh cripes! Not this again!"

Sette pointed upwards, to where the mistletoe was sprouting. She'd fallen prey to it last year, too, so she knew what was going on.

"We gotta suck face or we can't leave," she said grumpily.

"Again?! What, this happened before? But nothing is different!"

Then she looked up at the plant, winkling her nose. "Dude, seriously? A plan that keeps you all froze up? That's just stu-"

Fionna's voice trailed off at Sette's instruction. "WHAT?! That's crazy! You're one of my close friends! I can't go doin' that, its too weird!"

"You think I'm happy 'bout this?" Sette asked unhappily. She stuck her tongue out in disgust. "Blech, gross. An' you ain't even as good lookin' as the last time!"

"Who would b-hey, what's that supposed to mean? I look exactly the same, except I just decided to look a little nicer today!"

She had though she looked good? Seriously?

"No, as the girl I got stuck with last time," Sette clarified. "She had tits even put yours t'shame."

Fionna was about to answer with an annoyed retort, than thought of what Sette was saying and started to snicker.

"No way dude, really? I just imagine you getting crushed with one of those! Besides, I thought they grossed you out."

Sette looked away, seemingly embarrassed.

"Just cuz I don't want none of me own don't mean I don't know what they're good for. Everyone knows bigger looks better."

"Oh really? What are they good for then?"

"Feedin' babes and drawin' the eye of blokes. And ladies what are into that."

"Puh. Boobs aren't that big a deal. They slow you down and they hurt when you get in in them."

Wait a minute...

"So you're saying you're one of those ladies are into that?"

Sette rolled her eyes. "I know all that, thick-head, that's why I don't want no- Oy! I didn't say nothin' of the sort!"

She practically hissed like a cat at the suggestion

"Just 'cuz I ain't blind don't mean I'm salivatin' all over 'me me own self! They looks good for them as like 'em, that's the sole thing I'm saying!"

"I dunno dude, you seem to be pretty into 'em, and you're yelling a lot. Maybe it wasn't just those breasts though, maybe you just liked her?"

She was being a pain, yeah, but that was what Sette got for saying she wasn't as pretty. She was just getting better at hiding that.

"Shaddup, you," she said unhappily. She was a lot better at dishing it out than taking it. "Let's just get this over with, alright?"

"Fine," Fionna said shrugging. "But I think you better do it, not me. That way it'll feel less..ya know, messed up."

"Fine," Sette said. She hesitated for a moment, and then got up on her toes - she wasn't as short as she used to be, she found.

She gave Fionna a kiss right on the mouth. It wasn't long or hard, just a quick in-and-out.

"There, happy?"

Had it been that long? Fionna had been so used to a short Sette that she hadn't expected her to reach so easily. and when she did, it was still surprising. The kiss didn't last long.

Good question.

"Nah dude," she said. "I don't think you ever brush your teeth."

But there was a wink, just so she understood it was still pretty cool Sette didn't complain about it all day.

"You brush'em?"

Yet another bit of standard modern hygiene Sette had utterly missed out on.

"Uh, yeah. Who wants to have a stinking mouth?"

Was she seri-oh really. asking herself that question was just dumb at this point.

"Besides, I like having my teeth, even the buck ones in the front! I don;t want 'em rotting away!"

"First I ever heard of it," Sette commented. "Now...aha, yes! I can move again!"

She did a happy little dance.

"Stoopid plant."

"Yeah, it was just another pervy queen moment," Fionna said, sighing. "I'll bet there's more around too. Imagine if you get someone really bad dude..."

She took out her sword and threw it at the plant.

"You SUCK! Taste my blade!"

"Ugh, don't remind me," Sette groused. "There're probably some proper childlovers out there."

"That would be pretty messed up. But hey, at least we got through this without, like, fights or nothing. Feels...like we should do something awesome after this, I dunno. What do you think?"

"I dunno, just kissin' ain't much of a challenge," Sette pointed out. "Whaddaya got in mind?"

"It is if you really don't like that dude," Fionna said. "Like, if you had to kiss your worse enemy or something."

She thought about this. "I dunno, sledding, or maybe some swimming! I dunno, I have all this energy! I wanna do something with a lot of physical junk!"
