Characters: Katina, Subaru, and Akiha
Date:I'll get back to you on that in a moment
Summary: Nightmare make relationship go BOOM
Warnings: Smooches? Anger? Poooossible violence?
...the well had given her some advice, she supposed. That was good advice, right? Talk it out. Deal with the consequences. Try not to hurt anyone any more than you already are you dumb bitch.
But those nightmares, if she could call them that, were her own thoughts, her own mind, with a voice reassuring her beneath it all. When did she start letting people push her around? Sure, when she was absolutely dumb and wrong, Russell had gotten away with putting her back on track, but that was rare. She took charge and she took what she wanted and did what she wanted and people listened. Even if people she couldn't fight didn't like it, she could be persuasive when pressed.
Now Akiha was pushing her around, had a collar on her, and she was crying and desperate over her and Subaru, letting how they feel decide things that she should be deciding, making it painful for her to do what was just coming naturally. Ha, like they knew the real her. She'd been a pansy, sucking up, just for what? A little emotional security, some good sex? Katina didn't need that if it meant not having any guts.
She knew when Subaru was active, knew when Akiha was active, and just had to make them cross paths. If they didn't like the truth about her, fuck 'em. She waited for Akiha to come by outside of the mansion, where she knew Subaru would see them if she came by, running or whatever.
"It's still not too cold out yet huh?"

"No. She wasn't going to tell you. She wasn't going to tell me," Akiha said to Subaru, shaking her head though her gaze stayed on Katina. "She's only saying something now because she got caught."
Akiha's eyes blazed as she felt her demon side push and demand in the back of her mind, her willpower barely keeping her from lashing out. She was feeling it again, feeling it so acutely again...
"Again... Once again... I'm not good enough. You don't like me enough to choose me and another woman's in the way." Her eyes move back over to Subaru for a moment, and it was almost like looking into the eyes of a demon before she looked back at Katina.
If I can't have her, no one will have her...
The words from before, from back then, pushed forward in her mind. She almost gave in. Almost. Sweat beaded on her forehead as she forced the impulse back.
"...then again, I am a monster. No one loves a monster."

Something pained in her chest. "Got caught? I knew Subaru'd be coming around this way sooner or later. See, I still wasn't quite tough enough to just drag you both together, and I figured this'd get the message across just fine. Did you know I damn near brought myself to tears worrying about it? About relationships?" She shook her head. "I don't need it. I don't need that kind of shit holding me back, and neither of you seem too happy with it huh?"
Katina turned to Subaru. "This is me telling you." And then to Akiha. "At least you're a monster who tries to be loyal eh? I dunno, I think I've got you beat at being a bitch, though it's hard to say with you." Fuck. This is probably not the way to keep herself in one piece but... she started laying into them, so she can't stop, just deal with it.

"You think... that this is holding you back?" Emotionally? Physically? "All I ever wanted to do was support you..." Tears stung at her eyes, and the quiver from her lips made it into her voice but there is something wrong about her expression. Wrong in the manner that her fingers clutch into tight fists at her sides. She wasn't shaking because she was about to burst forth with the crocodile tears (though they were not far behind).
No. She was livid. "I thought that you... that we had something special.
"I gave you my... my...." She can't even bring herself to say 'my first time', but it was pretty clear that it was both very important to her, and unforgivable suddenly that this woman — one of her newest, but dearest friends; her lover — had just made it sound like that kind of emotional attachment was baggage.

She'll pay. I'll tear her throat out and drink deep of her blood. Take away the chance for the other woman to get a final piece of her. Even in death she can be min--
No, no, no, no... Akiha clenched her left hand hard, purposefully cutting into her own skin with her talon-like nails. She was angry, yes, but she would not give into her inversion impulse. Oh, it was strong, so strong, having been invading her dreams, but she was the master of herself. Her will was too strong and she refused to give into it, no matter how wonderful it sounded to just rend Katina from limb to limb.
Perhaps it was a good thing Subaru hadn't finished her last sentence and revealed that Katina had taken her virginity, because the blonde had also taken Akiha's. The half-demon might have had a harder time controlling her killer desires then. She had to close it all off, become cold to it all or she would lose the precarious control she had.
Blood seeped between her fingers to drip slowly onto the ground from where her hand hung at her side as she purposefully closed the distance between her and Katina. Her voice was cold as ice when she spoke.
"Your false tears mean nothing to me. Your message has been received loud and clear." Her right hand came up, fingers curved ready to slash the woman with those nails, but her hair instantly went black as she forced control over herself. Her hand descended to slap Katina across the face with all of her inhuman strength.
"You are a coward," she said, and it was then that a single tear escaped Akiha's restraint to slip down her cheek. "Get off my property."

...just like they should.
...just like she wanted them to.
...what was the purpose of this? What did she really mean by this? Being tough and sticking it to them and letting what may happen happen? Subaru, angry. Katina had never seen her remotely like this. Good. When something like this happens, you get angry, you don't cry and mope and plead.
Akiha, looking so close to exploding, ripping her apart, tearing her open, actually finishing her off. If anyone would do it, it would be her right? That temptation had to be physically painful to resist.
...just a slap? A slap that jarred her, shook her head, sent her staggering back but... a slap. Just that. A slap and a tear. "...you two. Emotionally... so... making me so important to you, when I'm really like this. Look where that got the both of you."
She'll be fine. This was the only way to do it. "I'm outta here. Kiss and make up." A wave to Akiha, then Subaru. "Don't change your mind and come after me."

But then Katina was leaving, and she couldn't have that. Not yet.
"Wait!" Subaru barked that out with more conviction than before, prying apart grit teeth in order to do it. Her feet carried her swiftly to Katina's side where she none-too-gently pull on one shoulder to turn the woman to face her. Akiha got a piece of her for that indiscretion, so now it was Subaru's turn. She reached up with her hands for each side of the taller woman's neck as Subaru took one final look in Katina's mismatched eyes, not even bothering to hide the contempt.
Finally she tightened her grip—
—and tore the fastening of the collar apart with all her might.
Subaru stepped back, the broken adornment clutched in a tight fist. Perhaps Akiha didn't deserve her distrust and hate to the extent she initially believed, but it still felt really good to do that regardless. To make it clear to both of them how she felt about that side of the arrangement. Even though that girl was just as equally played by Katina as Subaru had been, right now, she had little sympathy to spare.

Reflexively, Akiha's eyes bore into Subaru as her hair flashed vermilion again. Her power, the unseen, unbreakable strands wrapped about Subaru as Akiha restrained her. The cold was so biting as it leeched the woman's heat, that it came close to making it feel like her target would burst into flame at any second.
Kill...
But it was only for a few seconds before Akiha realized what she was doing. She visibly shook her herself, her non-bleeding hand coming up to her temple, then she turned away. Suddenly, the strands were gone and Akiha's hair returned to black before she slammed the back door of the mansion behind her.

But of course, Subaru was faster, and Katina whirled around eyes cold - almost empty. "What are you..." Breaking her neck? That wasn't the look in Subaru's eyes though. She was angry and sad, but not like that, and when the chain was shattered instead of her bones, Katina's eyes narrowed.
Just breaking that chain that she'd almost gotten so used to as to forget about it. Another connection to them, shattered. Akiha over there was going vermilion again but... not towards Katina, and she backed off, just in case something horrific happened.
Nothing like it. Again, Akiha resisted, and now left, after whatever she did.
