Summary: New Years Eve party at the Inn / Onsen

Just as Subaru had announced, the Inn was laid out for a grand old party and everyone was invited! The first floor had wall panels opened for two large rooms for mingling; one with food and music, the other with a few different games (and space for anything people might bring in)!

The hot springs are also ready as always, with towels and buckets and such all set out, in case someone wanted a nice relaxing soak in the otherwise chill night air.

For those staying the night, the second floor has been closed off to offer as much privacy as possible, with futons laid out as they were intended, four to a room. It might be too cold and dark to go home after midnight, after all, and Subaru will not kick anyone out.

The only thing she seems to have forgotten is fireworks... but that doesn't mean sparks can't fly at midnight.

I'm kinda an expert and making this stuff! So this can totally be epic, or we could just jump each other later!

[ She emerges from the fort, a pillow clutched between her hands. ] I say we team up, now that we have defenses of our own! [ Strategy? For pillow fights? It's more likely than you think. ]

Ok dude! Let's go and take these dudes down!

{Brings the pillow up against her face]. Is this usual to you?

It was during a school trip, in a much smaller room of a larger hotel. Though that part isn't so different right now...

[ Mugi is not usually the one being asked about how mundane things worked. On the contrary, she's usually the one asking said questions. She blinks Fionna. ] You've never attended school?

Nah, they don't usually have stuff like that for humans!

It was a requirement for all children, I thought. [ Oh. Right. ] —where I'm from, at least.

Sounds fun! You guys go on many adventures or fight any bad guys?

No? [ What an odd quetion. ] I mean, we did go on trips and have adventures like that, but no fighting!

[fionna_time]

[Huh. This school sounded kinda boring]. So if you don't fight, how do you learn to defend yourself? Shouldn't school teach that stuff?

That was never really an issue. I had classes for math, science, language lessons, the arts, and of course my time with the music club!


...oh, but I did learn some defensive magic from a girl here. Does that count?

Sounds a little weird, but I like the music part!

Oh yeah? From who? Kris?

Some from Kris, yes, but it didn't work out so well for me. I meant from Alessa-san. [ Though she feels a little sad that the other girl wasn't around any longer. ] It might not be much, but I hope the next time there is trouble I will not be a burden to others. [ In the end, being kidnapped was a fun experience, but troubled many she knew. ]

Alessa taught you magic?! I didn't know she knew anything-well, I mean, I knew stuff traveled around with her. Scary stuff! And don't worry dude, I know you won't be!

Why did you look sad when you mentioned Alessa though?

Only a small amount! And I've never tested it, so I'm not even sure if I can use it at all. [ Probably not. She's kind of plain that way. ]

Well... I always got the impression that her life before coming here was troublesome.

There should be plenty of people who want to teach you magic! I'm sure they won't mind!

...I think I know what you mean. [ The memory of what she had learned from Yuyuko during the time with the leaves made her shiver. ]

Maybe. I've seen scary stuff, but that was...that was bad.

I wanna know she's ok. She's...she tries real hard, you know?

[Fionna is actually trying to be in tears].

[ Mugi hangs her head after a slow nod. ] I wish we could find out something like that. I'm sure that she will be able to take care of herself, if she was able to give me advice on how to do the same. [ It was clear the girl had some wisdom and power that Mugi did not possess. ]

[Fionna nodded, remembering how scared she was when she first got here, how she had made sure to let the girl stay at her place and get comfortable]. I just hopes she doesn't forget us. I know we helped give her strength.

I hope she remembers. I know I would like to remember all of you if I ever went home! [ Which is going to be sooner rather than later. ] ...I think... I would like to find Akira-kun before we go on with the game. Maybe she would like to play, too! [ And Mugi could use the cheering up right about now. ]
