[ Winter has slowed the flower youkai down, it's true, but after being tricked by those marigolds so recently she was not about to let it slide. Exploring the entirety of the gardens might seem like a tall order, but she has nothing but time now to investigate her surroundings more thoroughly. If she so happens to bump into one of its inhabitants,that's just a bonus for her. Especially if something fun happens along the way~. ]


((OOC: As you can see, Yuuka's just wandering all over. Feel free to pick and choose where and when the two bump into each other. Mistletoe is optional, but largely the point of this post.))

There's something that strikes Florina about Yuuka, though she seems friendly enough at the moment. ]

Nonsense. You couldn't possibly bother me. [ That was either a reassurance or a threat. It was hard to say, with that smile of hers. ]

[ Right? Florina doesn't want to bother anyone, especially someone this confident. ]

My dear, are you trembling? [ Honestly, Yuuka hasn't done anything yet, which is sort of disappointing. ]

[shy_flier]

[ Florina shakes her head, taking a breath to steady herself. No need to be nervous. This woman can't be too bad right? ]

I'm sorry, I'm just... a little shy is all...

Hmm, is that it? [ The green-haired woman gives the girl a lengthy once-over, her eyes lingering along the length of that weapon. ] Perhaps I should be the one afraid for this meeting, as I find myself... [ She twirls her umbrella once. ] Unarmed.

[ At that, she raises her hands. ]

I don't like hurting people.

I wouldn't say that if I had a sword. [ She giggles. ] Does it even work, or is it just for show?

[shy_flier]

It's a real sword, I know how to use it... and I've used weapons a lot. Out of... necessity.

[ She doesn't relish being a mercenary by any means. ]

Do you consider yourself... strong?

[shy_flier]

I'm... I'm strong enough to do what I have to.

[nephentes_rajah]

[ Now she looks interested. ] And what does that entail?

[shy_flier]

[ Florina hesitates. Mercenaries are always treated so poorly, but no one here is really judgmental. ]

...I'm a mercenary.

Hmm, I see...

Does that mean you will do anything, if the price is right?

Ilian mercenaries have... standards. Some standards.

You're already working purely for pay... Why set limits for yourself?

That... that doesn't mean I'll do things like... hurting innocent civilians.

[ You know, she normally dislikes discussing morals, but with someone who seems less than confident in their position, it can be fun to tease them. Yuuka continues to smile, shifting ever closer, bit by bit. ] And what makes someone innocent?

[ Oh. Her personal bubble isn't being invaded yet, but her instincts aren't happy about this. ]

M-most... most people... don't really, seriously... hurt each other. Even if... people fight and cheat and steal, that's... they're not all soldiers.

[nephentes_rajah]

[ If the girl backed away, it would just be into an invisible barrier anyhow. ] You don't have to be a soldier to hurt people.

[ Not yet. Yuuka hasn't been dangerous yet. ]

I know that. A... a dark druid... hurt more people where I'm from than any soldier. But... a soldier is usually at least aware of... the dangers. Even if they have no choice.

Everyone has a choice, dear. If someone ever said otherwise, they were lying to you. Lies said to make them feel better about their decision; their pathetic guilt~. [ And Yuuka knows a thing or two about lies. ]

...a choice between fighting or dying isn't much of a choice. Or... if they run, letting their family suffer.

Ah, you never said it had to do with having no good choices. [ She pouts a bit. ] Going that route is unfair.

It's... not much of a difference usually.
