Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

"Hmm?" Fionna looked perplexed. "But what's the fun in that? If you do that all the time, you'll just be alone, right? Wouldn't it kinda make more sense to hang around and talk and laugh?"

She thought so, anyway.

"Oh, ok! Well yeah, it is me. And who are you?"

[shanghaiworld]

And this was something Alice had an answer for. "But I have my dolls. They keep me company. And I am Alice Margatroid." The important thing was the dolls though.

"Your dolls?" Fionna looked confused. "But they can't walk and talk with you, or throw parties and have fun like people can. Is it really the same thing?"

[shanghaiworld]

"That's where you're wrong. They can do those things." To anyone who doesn't know the truth, it would seem that Alice is COMPLETELY INSANE.

[fionna_time]

Fionna scratched her head. Granted, she had seen a lot of things and Ooo, and as for crazy people...well, she'd seen a lot of THEM too. Alice didn't strike her as one though

"How can they do that stuff?"

[shanghaiworld]

"Same as everyone else. Just smaller." Which makes it hard for them to use chairs, sadly.

"Can you show me? It's kinda not something I'm used to seeing where I'm from."

And she's seen a lot.

[shanghaiworld]

Show a party while at a party? That's just nonsense. "Not a chance. You already have a party on hand."

[fionna_time]

"Oh, uh, sorry? I just really wanted to see how you made your dolls move and talk, is all. You seem real happy about them."

That was what Fionna gathered anyway.

"... I can't do that either." Mostly because it's not something one can SEE.

[fionna_time]

Now Fionna really looked confused.

"So you can't make them do that? So how do the dolls talk with you?"

[shanghaiworld]

What? Now that wasn't what she said. Alice doesn't exactly approve of her skills being talked down to. "I said I can't show you them... because it's not something you can see."

[fionna_time]

Now Fionna is just confused.

"So you...hear them?"

[shanghaiworld]

"... No."

After that, Alice just didn't know where to go from here.

Fionna was really, really trying to understand, but somehow she thought she was too...stupid? And Alice had looked uncomfortable as it was. She was still hoping to try to understand this stuff with the dolls, but maybe they would have to get back to it?

"Um, that's ok, we can talk about it later! So what's your world like?"

[shanghaiworld]

"Better than here."

Well, it was true. At least to Alice.

[fionna_time]

That...wasn't really a lot to go on.

"Well how?" Fionna asked, anxious to learn something more about one of these new people here. "What's it like?"

[shanghaiworld]

Why does a slumber party involve interrogations, Alice thought. And why her? It would be easier to ask someone else, who handles these things more often.

"You can ask Sanae about that, we're from the same place... in a sense."

[fionna_time]

"But I'm asking you," Fionna said, looking awkward. Man, was it something she did? Was there some kind of way of going about stuff that she might have offended somehow?

"I mean, I'm tryin' to learn some more about the guys here I haven't met before. I like meeting new people, so I figure learning about them is a good place to start!"

[shanghaiworld]

"I'm not really interested about having people know about me." It's not that she flat out doesn't want others to know about her, but it's just that she doesn't cares to share, especially with people she doesn't know.

[fionna_time]

"Oh." That sorta stopped the conversation flat, really. She tried talking about what Alice might be interested in, but that failed. She tried finding out about her world and talking about it, but that failed too. Was she just really bad at this?

"Is there anything you want to talk about? I'd like to get to know a little about you, but if you don't wanna talk about your world, that's ok too! We can talk about anything you want!"

[shanghaiworld]

"I didn't really come here to talk, I only came since I would have been home alone otherwise." And that had to have been one of the most insulting things she could have said.

[fionna_time]

"Oh." Fionna felt really dumb and awkward now. It was hard enough, trying to actually be friendly, but what more could she do with someone who didn't really want to talk? She'd already seen what happened as a consequence.

"I can leave you alone then, if you want."

[shanghaiworld]

"Do what you want." It's not that Alice has to comply to what Fionna does, but it's apparently her party or whatever.

[fionna_time]

"But I'm asking you," Fionna insisted. "I mean, I know its awkward here. I'm still...I'm still getting used to all these human girls man! Where I'm from, I'm the last one left. You don't have to open up with secrets and junk, I get you're still figuring all this out. But it'd be cool to talk with you, about any of this."
