[ To say that Mugi was excited when Akira just up and asked her out for dinner would be an understatement. The young girl had been slowly coming to grips with the reality of this reality that she had not quite been the picture of the bubbly, musical, sometimes-romance-obsessed girl that she had been upon arrival.

Perhaps this would be a good revival of that.

There had been but once question: "What do you want to do? We'll go wherever you want."

The answer might not have been quite what was expected: "I wish to visit the highest point we can find!"

What better place to hold a quiet picnic for two than atop the ledge of a giant freaking clock tower? Nowhere, that's where. ] Ah, it's so breezy up here! [ Perhaps her skirt shouldn't have been so flowy, but she did want to look nice for tonight. At least her hair is up and tied enough to not get in her eyes too much, and things did seem to be calming down as the sun continued to set in the distance. ]

[ She nods. ] I agree. I know what it was like to feel completely restless and uncertain but... I don't feel that way anymore. [ Of course she thought "going nuts" was a hyperbole. ]

[ Mugi sets down the fork and gives Akira a curious look. ] You have?

Yeah... It's kinda made me wonder if it's really okay for us to get so close like this. I mean, I know I really do appreciate you, everything about you... but is that selfish? I dunno.

[golden_gaytime]

[ Mugi isn't as perplexed as she should be. ] This land... it's dream-like, but it isn't a dream. If what you say is selfish, then isn't everyone a bit selfish? Making friends, getting to know others, or even just meeting people they couldn't normally come in contact with.

I greatly enjoy that, and knowing more of the truth won't change that!

But isn't it a bit much knowing that at any moment, this could be the last time we see one another?

Maybe I should learn a way to be in two places at once. [ It's a sad smile, but Mugi is trying to be optimistic about this. They already lost their chance (and choice) to be at home when they were brought here. ] If I could do that, I would be even happier, because then I wouldn't have to give up being with my friends at home or being with friends here.

[ Giggling. ] Yes, indeed! I would enjoy that very much, and then I could introduce you to all my fiends, and I could also meet your sister.

Nah... I don't have to turn on the charm for you. Just be myself. I mean every word I say. I definitely think I'm falling for you.

[ —okay, her heart racing is most certainly not her imagination. She is completely speechless. This is a moment she's certainly read about many times, in many different stories, but now that it's her turn to go through with it all those panels turned blank in her mind.

Whoops. My bad. -Akira laughed, knowing full well what impression her words had made on Mugi.-
