For someone who had invited another over to clear up the constant awkward misunderstandings between them, Subaru was not at all nervous about Sayaka's visit. In the time leading up to her arrival she busied herself first with a quick shower, then a bit of sweeping, and finally preparing the dinner she had planned since yesterday. The scent of steaming stir-fry vegetables and baked chicken fill the kitchen and adjacent room. Though Subaru has only set out two places on the low table, it looks as if her preparations could easily feed five or more. Chopsticks and other utensils are both available, tea, soda, and water are all ready in their pitchers or bottles, and she's just waiting near an open wall for the few minutes before the hour was up.

Aheh, I guess I did... [ That wasn't what she meant, but it wasn't something to split hairs over. ]

So... did you get anyone to try staying here?

Here? Hmm, maybe. A few came and checked it out, but I didn't get any definite answers. Which is fine. [ She looks around, taking a deep breath. ] I think I'm going to spend a little less time here from now on. It won't need as much care with it being emptier.

... But isn't this where you stay?

It is, but it's much too big for just myself and Mach Caliber.

It's too... quiet, I guess. It makes me feel just a little lonely. [ Subaru goes back over to her seat. ] Katina stays with me, sometimes, but you couldn't call it living together. So I'm taking Akiha's offer.

........ Ah. [And suddenly, bitterness.]

[ Subaru should really not be surprised by this, but she chooses not to say anything. Her friendship with Akiha is not on the table, after all. ]

Are you full already? Aheh I guess I really did make too much, again...

No, no! I can eat! [She's certainly not going to risk wasting food again.]

Hehe, good! [ Subaru smiles and digs in. Gotta fuel the furnace, so to say. ]
