My blood starts pumping as I drain my cup

It is clear and balmy in the Gardens when Wednesday evening rolls around. The northern solstice, Spring burgeoning into Summer, but it is always beautiful here, except when the Queen loses her temper or makes another rash decision. There are insects singing in the trees, and all the paths that head to the beach seem to have been lined with flowers and torches, leading the way down to the waterfront. From what looks like a severed ships mast, a pirate flag dances in the breeze at the center of the area, beckoning visitors.

The scene is set, a wide swatch of beach ringed with flickering wooden torches, music being played by a skeleton crew, the rest of their shipmates standing at attention, waiting to serve and to dance. They rattle and smile, and although it does not seem they can speak, they can most certainly laugh. It looks like a party. It just needs a few partygoers to liven things up. The inflatible sea monsters waiting on the sand aren't having much fun on their own. Some of the other decorations are a bit more questionable, fetishes of bones and feathers and beads.

But there are drinks, if you need some help loosening up. Each of the glasses grins like a jolly skull. Maybe you don't have much choice about drinking, everything's spiked and it smells like some of the food was cooked in alcohol as well. There is a great bubbling cauldron of stew churning over an open flame and set up down the center of a long string of wooden tables there's a great bounty to be had. Seafood of all kind: tentacled and shelled and exotic. Perhaps something you've missed from home? Some still bear their head and eyes, appendages stirring fitfully. Freshest is best, of course. Maybe you should toss your favorites into the pot.

At the very end of the arrangement, there's a number of desserts, the dishware all gleaming gold, but dented terribly from years of abuse. The largest of which is a fluffy white-frosted cake. Don't worry, there's plenty of booze in the batter. Below are bowls of candied figs, orange slices, puddings, sticky treats filled with nuts and honey, chocolate and rum bonbons, marshmallows to be roasted. Don't hold back.

When you're through - (or along the way?) - there are plenty of amusements besides dancing and small talk. A row of large wooden dartboards, sets of knives as well as a sign outlinging scoring and challenges (Why don't you close your eyes and throw over your shoulder? Maybe you should challenge someone to mubletypeg instead.) There's a sturdy pinata to be bashed open, a row of coals in the sand to be braved by novice firewalkers. Perhaps you could convince someone into that dunking booth?

[[ooc; Please enjoy and feel free to be creative about what accouterments might go along with a pirate themed bash, we really don't mind. Skeletons will be milling about to serve/etc, and all games/etc have hand-painted signs with instructions.]]

Fionna didn't mind. She did know that, of all things, she would have to be the one that initiated a little more, that involved Amamiya more because she kept to herself. That was ok. She didn't mind easing her into it, making sure that Amamiya knew Fionna wouldn't push if it made her feel uncomfortable.

Other times, Fionna would just have to lead. She learned that much from Marceline.

"How do you feel?" Fionna asked, looking concerned.

Where to even begin answering that question?

"Um. Happy. Thrilled. Terrified."

[fionna_time]

She smiled, obviously more than happy to get this reaction.

"Guess this'll be new for both of us. But you make me not afraid. I'm kinda excited and fluttery, actually."

Amamiya couldn't think of anything coherent to say to that. The room was spinning around them, and not just because of the dance.

Instead she just bent in and gave her a little kiss ont he nose. Hopefully, that would get the message across.

It did. Fionna blushed, laughing nervously. Yes, even she could actually be a little coquettish when the situation called for it.

"Hey, let's not forget, we still gotta train together," she said in hushed voice, smiling. "Unless you think you can't really take me."

[gentlecuteside]

"Of course I can," Amamiya whispered back. "I'd be only to happy to make you eat the dirt. Lovingly, of course."

[fionna_time]

She blushed, but she was grinning. "We'll see about that, Amamiya. I don't go down easy!"

Yup, no double meaning there...that she meant, anyway.

[gentlecuteside]

Amamiya blinked, and then blushed.

"I-I think that would be taking it a bit fast," she stammered out.

[fionna_time]

"Yeah it would! Wait, what?"

Right over her head.

[gentlecuteside]

"Oh, um, nothing! Nothing at all! Forget I said anything!"

[fionna_time]

Fionna looked suspicious and a little suprised. "You...weren't thinking one of those Kanako thoughts, were you?"

[gentlecuteside]

"Kanako thoughts?"

[fionna_time]

Crud.

"Yeah, she's...kind of a pervert. I mean, she means well, you met her and all, but she totes wants to see every girl naked and do all this stuff. I was just wonderin' if you thought I was thinking like that, or if you were."

[gentlecuteside]

"Oh, I see. I...suppose you could say that. You made a bit of a...double entendre back there."

[fionna_time]

"A double...a double on ton who?" Fionna blushed slightly. She never really got it when Prince Gumball started talking in a different language, and she definitely didn't want to look like an idiot in front of her girlfriend.

Her GIRLFRIEND. Fionna glowed with pride thinking about it. It just made her feel all warm.

Wait, back to Amamiya!

"But I get it! I won't do any more of those on ton stuffs anymore! I know not everyone's cool with that. It makes me feel funny just thinking about it!"

[gentlecuteside]

"It's not a problem, it just means that...well, the words you used have a second meaning. A Kanako meaning."

[fionna_time]

"I'll try to make sure I don't slip up. I know people talk about that stuff here all the time, but I'm an adventurer. I don't know anything about how that all works, and I bet you don't either. Where would you have the time?"

She is still turning so red.

[gentlecuteside]

"Haha! Yes! Where would I have the time for that at all! I am definitely completely ignorant on this topic."

Inexperienced? Totally. Ignorant? Well...yes, but she had quite a little library of romance novels back home. Some of them rather explicit.

[fionna_time]

Fionna giggled. "Good, so we both such at that! We'll be as nice and non crazy as possible!"

That was what she said.

"But ya know, maybe one day, like not now, I might kinda wanna maybe see you with a dress, hair down. I like it."

[gentlecuteside]

"R-really?" Amamiya asked, suddenly a bit self-conscious. "I'm...I'm sure it'd be nothing special..."

[fionna_time]

At this, Fionna just raised her eyebrow. "Only a dummy wouldn't look at you and be happy, Amimiya. Trust me, it would be plenty special."

[gentlecuteside]

"Well, I...it certainly wouldn't be any trouble to grant that wish," Amamiya said. "If you want."

[fionna_time]

Fionna beamed at her. "Cool. I'm glad. You're real pretty, you know."

[gentlecuteside]

"A-and you too!" Amamiya said suddenly. "I bet you'd look really good in a dress. And with your hair loose. And no hat!"

[fionna_time]

Fionna looked down and, to the shock of most, gave Amimiya a knowing grin.

"D-do you wanna, sometime? I don't do i6 normally, but I could, you know."
