My blood starts pumping as I drain my cup

It is clear and balmy in the Gardens when Wednesday evening rolls around. The northern solstice, Spring burgeoning into Summer, but it is always beautiful here, except when the Queen loses her temper or makes another rash decision. There are insects singing in the trees, and all the paths that head to the beach seem to have been lined with flowers and torches, leading the way down to the waterfront. From what looks like a severed ships mast, a pirate flag dances in the breeze at the center of the area, beckoning visitors.

The scene is set, a wide swatch of beach ringed with flickering wooden torches, music being played by a skeleton crew, the rest of their shipmates standing at attention, waiting to serve and to dance. They rattle and smile, and although it does not seem they can speak, they can most certainly laugh. It looks like a party. It just needs a few partygoers to liven things up. The inflatible sea monsters waiting on the sand aren't having much fun on their own. Some of the other decorations are a bit more questionable, fetishes of bones and feathers and beads.

But there are drinks, if you need some help loosening up. Each of the glasses grins like a jolly skull. Maybe you don't have much choice about drinking, everything's spiked and it smells like some of the food was cooked in alcohol as well. There is a great bubbling cauldron of stew churning over an open flame and set up down the center of a long string of wooden tables there's a great bounty to be had. Seafood of all kind: tentacled and shelled and exotic. Perhaps something you've missed from home? Some still bear their head and eyes, appendages stirring fitfully. Freshest is best, of course. Maybe you should toss your favorites into the pot.

At the very end of the arrangement, there's a number of desserts, the dishware all gleaming gold, but dented terribly from years of abuse. The largest of which is a fluffy white-frosted cake. Don't worry, there's plenty of booze in the batter. Below are bowls of candied figs, orange slices, puddings, sticky treats filled with nuts and honey, chocolate and rum bonbons, marshmallows to be roasted. Don't hold back.

When you're through - (or along the way?) - there are plenty of amusements besides dancing and small talk. A row of large wooden dartboards, sets of knives as well as a sign outlinging scoring and challenges (Why don't you close your eyes and throw over your shoulder? Maybe you should challenge someone to mubletypeg instead.) There's a sturdy pinata to be bashed open, a row of coals in the sand to be braved by novice firewalkers. Perhaps you could convince someone into that dunking booth?

[[ooc; Please enjoy and feel free to be creative about what accouterments might go along with a pirate themed bash, we really don't mind. Skeletons will be milling about to serve/etc, and all games/etc have hand-painted signs with instructions.]]

[Two things one might notice about Kazumi as she runs up to Akira, waving her hand. One, she's. Not very big, her age a lot more apparent than it was over the vine. Two, she's obviously more than a little smashed, given she can not seem to make it to her in a straight line.]

Aww, no suit? Heheh, though that bikini's really nice!

[Kazumi's swimsuit is basically her costume, minus the cape and hat.]

-Akira figures she just might be like that Ibarazaki girl... Or not. Either way, she won't turn her away. Yet. But she looks a bit gone for dancing, Akira reaching to steady her.-

Careful there, sweetheart.

Whoops, thanks...

[She leans into her arm and manages to straighten up a bit, only swaying slightly now she's not dashing across the beach.]

I think I ate too much... [Which would be a first, but wow, she's never felt like this before...]

Ah, that's a shame... if you're too gone, I don't think you can dance.

Ah, no, I'm fine, I can dance!

[She stands up, sways... and then just falls into Akira's chest.]

...probably.

As much as I'd love to sweep you off your feet, but something else beat me to it. Let me find you a place to rest.

Haha, okay, okay... [Yeah just going. Cling closely and let Akira walk her wherever.]

-She ends up carrying her part of the way. It was just easier. Eventually she sits her down on a bench.-

Take it easy, okay?

[cleaningstop]

[And a certain gatekeeper is now staring at you, fixated by this utterly strange and foreign dance routine.

It looks like fun, though!]

[Music... videos? What are these musical videos you speak of.

A d-dance? Um... alright. Yes, I'd be happy to!

Shall I lead? You're a bit taller than I am, after all.

Um, yes, that'd be just fine.

-Akira offered her hand.-

Then let's dance.

Yes, l-lets!

[and she grabs akira's hand.

Relax. Just move with me, okay? -And back out the dancefloor they go.-

[Rumia watched in amusement at Akira's dancing for a few minutes before offering a small wave.]

Yo! Ready for that dance, sweet thing?

Of course. I've been looking forward to this!

Show me what you've got. -She offers a hand to take the lead.-

[Rumia takes Akira's hand with a smile. Slowly she begins to attempts to begin a dance. Though she is more then a bit awkward, and her tail is clearly something of an issue, she is trying her best.]

-If nothing else, Akira adopts well, not looking troubled by the tail at all.-

[Rumia continues the dance, despite her awkwardness the gentle smile on her face is one of a girl enthralled in happiness.]
