Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

"Ah, well, it's just— There are a lot of humans around, and I'm still not really used to dealing with them, and anyway, I don't want to cause any trouble for Sanae." She tried to slink further back into her corner, as if worried Meiling might attempt to forcibly drag her from it. "So, I think it's okay if I mind my own business for tonight."

[cleaningstop]

"Don't be silly! I'm sure you wouldn't cause any trouble at all." Leave it to Meiling and her boundless optimism to try and cheer anybody up. "I think Sanae would like it if she saw you out here having fun and talking with everybody else. I know I would. Besides, talking to humans isn't really all that difficult. I do it all the time!" While obviously being hard at work for the Mistress.

"...Yeah, she probably would like it. But..." Nue hummed and hawed for a moment, than shrugged and gave up. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I really don't even know where to start with something like this," she admitted. "Being a terrifying youkai of the unknown doesn't really give you a lot of opportunities to socialize, you know."

[cleaningstop]

"Hmmm..." Perhaps it was a bit daunting to want Nue to socialize with others in what was turning out to be a decently-sized gathering."Oh, I know! Why don't you start with me?" Now there was a good idea! "We've already been talking for a bit, and I don't really think you're terrifying." Maybe that last part wasn't such a smart thing to say, though she'd said it with the best of intentions.

"...Thanks, I guess?" She said it with a bit of a wince. On the one hand, being terrifying was sort of what she did, but on the other... Well, she couldn't really blame Meiling for thinking this form wasn't frightening, and she obviously hadn't meant anything by it. She would just bear that blow to her pride with a minimum of cringing. "Anyway, we're already socializing, aren't we? I don't think there's anything to 'start.'"

[cleaningstop]

"Oh, I suppose you're right about that." In that case, there was only one thing left to do. "Well, since we're already doing that, why don't we continue talking? Just for a little bit longer!"

"Well... It's not like I was going to send you away or anything. You can keep talking for as long as it takes you to get bored of me, I guess."

"I-I won't get bored of you!" How could she, when she knew so little about Nue? "I'm positive that you and I will get along just fine, so don't worry about it."
