Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

[ The only reason she was here was because she was previously invited, okay? She's not so rude as to not show up like she had promised before.

She enters, towing a portable cooler behind her. Inside, the girls will find plastic containers with different samplers from her newly-made ice cream machine. (Before it broke apart, anyway.) They are not the best in taste, but she worked hard, so they'd better appreciate it!

Once she has that set up, she just stands somewhere nearby, arms crossed rather aggressively over her chest. What... is she going to do now? She doesn't really know, but she's not going to ask for help. She'll just stand there, staring at others, until someone approaches. If they dare. ]


((OOC: So I am a terrible person, and she has some personality effects in place thanks to all the rampant wild-carding going on. Tsun!baru should be approached with caution, as she's more likely to channel her irritation in a physical manner.

Think Taiga Aisaka on a BAD DAY, with with a bigger bust and a more powerful body. Sob I lack icons for this.))

"Hey, Subaru!" Fionna greeted, grinning. Subaru being around always helped to make her feel a little better about being a fish out of water. "Is that the ice cream you talked about before? Can't wait to try it out!"

Subaru gives Fionna a bit of a look, but it's a harsher glare than before. She nods once. "Yeah. I made too much and it would be bad to just throw it out, so bringing it was the obvious choice."

Fionna really should have figured out that this was Subaru in a rather different kind of light, but she was seeing with rose tinted glasses. As far as she was concerned, Subaru could do no wrong.

"But at least you wanted to share it, and that's cool!" Fionna said brightly. "I didn't even know you could make ice cream here! Would you show me sometime?"

"You didn't know? I announced it and everything." Hmph. Subaru grumbled a bit under her breath. "You should really pay more attention, geez."

"I saw the announcement when you were done! I didn't know you had an ice cream maker before. But you're right, I could pay a little more attention! I'll do that in the future."

She still offered Subaru a warm smile though. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

Fuming a bit, Subaru pointed at Fionna. "I even said that I just made that machine, too! Sheesh!! Were you too busy with your other friend to notice?" Not that she's jealous. Or cares. Idiot.

Fionna actually looked startled. Wait, what the nuts just happened? Did she say something dumb? She thought she was just being friendly and complimentary.

"Uh, no, I just...I didn't know you made it from scratch and all. I thought you just used the dirt."

"W-well..." That almost stops her in her tracks. She busies herself with crouching and opening the cooler, shifting through the ice to get at the plastic containers. The cold doesn't seem to bother her at all. "Of course I had to use the dirt to make the parts, but I designed and put the rest together myself. It's easy for someone like me!"

"I bet it is," Fionna said, offering a smile. "I kinda wish I knew how to make stuff like that! I'm sorry if I offended you or something, Subaru. I'm really glad you made this and gave it to us."

"You can always learn. The library won't have a book on it, but if I have some time, I guess I could teach you the basics in a way that you won't mess up or hurt yourself."

As for the ice cream, she grabs a container of a random flavor — kiwi, from the looks of it — and thrusts it at Fionna. "Just... take some, already. If it melts or goes to waste, I won't forgive anyone here!" Said loudly and with a look around the room. Yes, girls, that means ALL of you.

"Ok!" Fionna took the ice cream, and gave Subaru a smile. "Thanks, Subaru."

She smiled. "I'll make sure they all appreciate it, ok?"

There is the briefest of smiles in return. Fionna's not a bad kid, and maybe Subaru's being a little too cold.

...but that thought seems to leave as fast as it comes. She closes the cooler again and stands, dusting off her hands. "Don't mention it."

Then she looks around the room once more. "Did I miss anything interesting?"

Fionna is still trying to sort everything in her head, and of course Subaru is given priority.

"Just people talkin'. Me being called ugly, Sanae and Nue arguing, and talkin'."

Fionna wasn't quite sure what to think.

Hold the phone. Subaru narrows her eyes. "...who insulted you?" Another side effect of this behavior change is changing the way the woman perceives the protectiveness she feels toward her friends.

"Huh?" The way this day was going? Who was keeping track what someone said to someone else?

"Oh, Sette was all 'I'm fat and ugly' and junk. What a brat dude."

Yup. Didn't hurt. Not at all.

"Oh right. Her." Said rather dismissively. Subaru remembered the warning from last time about the girl's behavior, only this time as she thought about it, she wasn't as easygoing with the idea.

Giving Fionna a once-over. "I'm not saying this for your benefit, but she should get her eyes checked."

Man, it would be totes easy to disregard her, right? It was all Fionna wanted to do, so she would get her out of her hair.

But at what Subaru said, Subaru that she sort of looked up to, she hid a smile.

"T-thanks. It helps, ya know, hearing that sometimes."

Subaru flushed a bit, turning half away from the girl. "Yeah, well, I don't give that kind of service often, so be thankful!"

Ok. It was a lie. In the back of her mind, Fionna knew this was not Subaru behavior. She was a kind, gentle person, and knowing this place messed with that was annoying. So she was happy, grateful.

Fionna reached over and kissed the back of her head.

"Thanks."

Subaru froze, slowly turning to stare at the blond like she had just shown her something horrific. There's also an odd stammer to her voice which had, despite some hiccups, remained steady this whole time. "W-what was that for?!"

Whoa. She did something wrong?

"Just saying thank you! I didn't mean to freak you out!"

"I-if you wanted to thank me, you could have just used words!" Did her voice just rise an octave? It sure did. "You didn't have to do anything else, dummy!" She raises her hand and, unsure as to what she wanted to do with it — and there being some instincts that are harder to override than others she brings it to the back of her own head, ducking down a bit to look around.

She mumbles. "What if Katina was..."

[fionna_time]

"I'm not the best with words," Fionna admitted, looking a little abashed but still fairly energetic. "I just wanted to let you know I appreciate you. No one really got too friendly besides mar mar, so...thanks."


She got out of the way, and smiled. "So its Katina? Ok Subaru, sorry I might get ya in trouble!"

Sorry Fionna, but she isn't paying much attention to the latter part because she's on the verge of a flailing meltdown. "What about Katina? Who said something about her? Is she here?" Frantically looking around.

Thankfully, there's no way Katina is here (I checked), so her concern is gone as fast as it appears.

"Not that... I care if she is. She's a grown woman, too, and she can go where she wants to!" So there!
