Date: After the fair.
Summary: Not everyone is happy by the change in weather.

Fall is here, and leaves are in the air. And on the ground. And some are drifting peacefully in the streams were Prussia's trying her hardest to wash her clothes. Someone looks quite unprepared for the change in weather, punctuated by how her jacket is hanging on one of the higher branches on the now almost bare branches. Out of reach.

Austria hadn't found the fair to be much to her tastes, so she made her escape as soon as she could, and still here she is, meandering about enjoying the autumn scenery in a more quiet fashion. Of course, that peace and quiet is surely about to be shattered, given who she's just stumbled upon, flailing about in the river with her clothing.

"I hadn't realized you had any clue how to complete such a task as this, Preußen."

Groaning inwardly, Prussia was at least grateful for facing the other way. Stretching her arms behind her, she looked over shoulder at the intruder, "Unlike some people I know, I haven't been waited on all my life."

Clucking her tongue, Austria opted to linger, leaning back against a nearby tree.

"Cleanliness is a matter important enough that I've done more than my share of laundry. I am merely surprised that you even bother."

That did it. She had paused mid-scrub, but the clothes could wait for now. Leveling Austria with a long stare, Prussia's lips eventually curved into a smirk, "I should be honored you're sparing me the time of the day to think about my cleaning habits."

Austria met Prussia's stare, a rather smug expression on her face. She stepped forward from the tree in order to stand up straight.

"It is merely an indication that my surprise is that great."

"I was being sarcastic, you airheaded priss," giving the water a splash with her foot, Prussia then stood up as well, undisturbed by her bare legs and lack of sufficient clothes. "What is it that you want now?"

"Nothing," Austria answered coolly, rolling her eyes over-dramatically at Prussia's current state, "I simply found myself riveted by the sheer surprise of discovering your ability to perform a task relevant to cleanliness."

"Riveted," a small smile curved the corner of Prussia's lips. The air was cooling, if not beyond comfort at this point. She leveled Austria with a stare, her eyes not straying from hers, "Do you really find me unsightly, Österreich?"

A soft "hmph" was the only response that Austria gave initially. After carefully thinking over her words, she answered.

"Have you ever witnessed something so horrifying that you could not tear your eyes away?"

America had decided to look around and see if this change really did affect everywhere, when she spotted a familiar figure near the stream. Of course, she immediately ran up to her.

"Haha! I didn't expect to see you doing stuff like this!"

Biting back a sarcastic remark, Prussia crouched forward, her bare legs immersed in the water to her knees. "Actually, c'mere. There's something I want to show you."

America's smile faded into a look of confusion before moving forward until she was next to Prussia, but avoiding the water.

"Yeah? What?"

The splash came quickly from Prussia's cupped hands, not close enough to hit effectively, but within range to make for a satisfying surprise.

America let out a startled yelp. She was expecting some artifact or maybe food, so a pout was quick to form on her face.

"That wasn't fair! You need to warn me if we're gonna have a water fight." Despite her words, America started to look for openings to surprise Prussia with.

"You had the advantage of being on land!" And yet, Prussia moved back into the water, trying to put a safe distance between them. Scrubbing clothes had been more boring than what she anticipated, and she was glad for any diversion (or victim).

"I needed time to prepare!" Now that this little water war was going on, America didn't mind getting wet, so she bolted into the stream. She wasn't the type to sit and plan, so she relied on trying to splash Prussia with the water as quick as possible.

Her strategy could use some work, but that's for her mentor to teach her!

The younger nation did surpass her in speed, and Prussia soon found herself shrieking and backing further into the stream. She soon gave up on keeping her hair dry and intact, so she abandoned shielding her head to splashing back in an attempt to dampen America's legs and skirt, instead.

England, in contrast, was quite happy about the weather. She looked forward to the rain. It reminded her at home. After Prussia's other guests had left her, England was the next to find her. She walked along the bank of the streams, following a few cats for now. She didn't know where they were taking her, but she felt the need to follow them.

And suddenly the cats disappeared into the bushes and England looked up to see Prussia's jacket hanging on a tree branch. She continued moving around the corner and saw the albino-colored country herself. England was hesitant about approaching her, wondering if Prussia was still nervous about her magic.

She finally got enough courage to sneak over and move closer to the stream. Once she was close enough, England splashed Prussia from the side.

At first, Prussia's arms flew to hug her body instinctively against the cold splash of water, jumping from her spot, calf-deep in the water. She squinted in the daylight as not to make out the source, if the direction of the attack.

"Austria, I swear I'll end--" stepping back once, twice, she blinked the water away, standing still as she recognized England's slender form.

It took a moment before she started splashing back.

Of course, England was expecting a retaliation. She grinned, even as she blocked her face. She didn't realize it was so cold. England stepped into the water and continued more splashing. Neither one of them would back down, and she knew this. They were both stubborn.

"Is that the best you can do, almighty Prussia?"

"Now you've done it!" Stepping back and closer to the banks, Prussia reached for her clothes-emptied bucket, scooping as much water as possible in such short a time, before taking a precise aim at England's chest.

England saw what Prussia was doing as soon the other country began to move. She tried to make a break for it, but England had never been good with water so she was quite slow. She squealed as the water from the bucket hit her, because of the cold, and fell flat on her backside into the stream. Thankfully, it wasn't too deep, but hitting the ground full of rocks still hurt. She wrapped her arms around herself, shivering.

By the time England had recovered, the bucket had been refilled and wielded threatening in Prussia's hands, who stood triumphantly over the blonde's soaked form.

"Fancy another bath?" she grinned, making the bucket sway just a bit with its contents.

England was quiet for a moment, and then a slow smirk spread across her face. "I think it'd be better if you joined me...!" And she reached up, grabbing Prussia's shirt and yanking down on it.

The water hadn't gotten any warmer since the change of the season, and Prussia acknowledged that with a yelp. Perhaps she was fortunate that most of her dry clothes were already on the bank, but it left her with the white shirt, completely soaked once she spluttered out of the water.

"You're vicious," she gasped out.
