[ Subaru had been looking forward to today. Is that odd of her? Probably so, but it couldn't be helped. She had tried so very hard the past couple of days to not worry about Katina out alone in the wilderness, just as the cyborg had promised, but there's only so much she can put off a feeling like that. Working out, doing maintenance, and exploration can only distract her so much.

Soon as she heard the knock at the door that late morning, Subaru set down her polishing rag and jogged through her open room door to open the front one. She smiled, taking one quick look at the woman's condition before greeting her proper. ] Welcome back, Katina.

[Akiha reaches up and grabs Katina's collar to jerk her down to her level. STOP BEING SO TALL.

...she doesn't slap her though.]

[Akiha lets go of Katina's shirt and lightly touches her cheek. It's only for a very cold second before she quickly takes it away like maybe she shouldn't be touching her. Or doesn't want to but can't help it.]

...so what was going on in your head? I know there usually isn't much going on in there, but something was.

[ Katina frowns. She's not sure what that touch means. ]

A lot more than usual... those dreams - nightmares - whatever... they were saying that if you guys didn't like what I'd been doing, I could just go find someone else.

Which was a total lie, and something that was in the back of my head because I was afraid and, well, when I am... I... really tend to deal with it by being dumb and boastful and... and... blustery...

Hmm.

[Akiha didn't feel like divulging that her nights had been filled with her draining Katina and Kris dry - so no one else could ever have them - and then painting the Garden red with everyone else's blood. She'd gone through all the blood Holiday had given her that week trying to control herself.]

What were you really afraid of?

[ Knowing that Akiha didn't give in to any of that might make Katina feel worse about her own self-control. It would also be... a little revealing, though. ]

Losing the two of you. Making both of you hate me for... for going behind your backs.

[Akiha came so close a couple times that she's ashamed to admit more than she already did.]

Was it the coward in you making you go behind our back or something else?

[She is not really pulling her punches despite being calm.]

...confusion at first. Didn't know that I... felt so strongly about you, so I just treated like, I dunno, a casual... thing.

[ A casual virginity taking thing. ]

Then when I realized what I was doing I just tried to ignore it instead of dealing with it.

[There is a frown at that casual remark because. yeah, virginity. Akiha pulls a knee up and rests her head on it.]

...and now you're dealing with it... how?

Right now? Just... talking to you about what happened. Trying to be honest, and not run away from it.

I do appreciate that. But... what do you want? What do you want from me?

I want...

[ Taking a breath, she runs her hand over her face. ]

I wanna be with you. But... I also want... to be with Subaru. Pretty selfish, huh?

[ritsu_kouyou]

Yes. [But it is a selfishness she can understand. After all, there is Kris...]

But I don't know if I can share. [Which she knows will make her a hypocrite.]

[ Katina turns away, sighing. ]

...I've been doing it for a while you know.

[ritsu_kouyou]

I'm aware of that. Subaru and I talked about this. [And she found out that she had been involved with Katina before Subaru had.]

But that's not the point. Now I know and you had told me that you were mine when you weren't. And that's where the issue lies.

That and I'm a jealous, possessive bitch.

[grandtheftmecha]

Yeah, well, if I was like that then I'd have picked a fight with Kris already, and if she was like that I'd be smoldering in a crater.

[ritsu_kouyou]

I'm surprised you weren't. You had made me cry and she found me like that, saying you'd never make me cry again, or something like that.

[Akiha looked away.] I may have said some things I shouldn't have in the midst of all that...

Er... to be honest, she did come and blast me a little, but it wasn't as bad as what that monster did.

...I'm not holding it against her.

[ritsu_kouyou]

[Akiha's head came up.]

The monster took you too? It took Kris - right out of my bed in the middle of the night. What happened? She refused to tell me. You tell me.

It got her...

[ Suddenly she wishes far more that she could get a hold of it. With a mech. ]

...guess attacking me is what made it angry. See, the lady at the well was giving advice that wasn't... what I did. Figure the dreams had something to do with it, given how opposed they were, and then... I was down there, and it was pissed, and uh...

It uh... [ Cough. ] It ripped me to fucking pieces.

[ritsu_kouyou]

[Akiha's eyes went even wider at that revelation and her hair turned vermilion. She then reached out to Katina to pull her to her in a possessive, protective... comforting hug.]

[grandtheftmecha]

What...

[ The vermillion hair was no surprise, but... she was stunned for a moment in that hug. Then, she took a shaky breath, wrapping her arms around Akiha.

It wasn't that bad. She'd messed up after all, it had just... hurt... and she didn't even really intend to broach the topic with Akiha or Subaru. ]

[ritsu_kouyou]

[It didn't matter. Akiha loved Katina, even if she also hated her (okay, maybe hate was far too strong of a word for it when it was really she hated how Katina made her feel), and someone had killed the idiot.]

If I ever see it again, I will drain it from existence. Nothing harms those I love without dealing with me.

If it's smart, it'll stay away now that we all know.

[ Really, Katina was actually pretty angry now that she knew about Kris, even if she figured fixing her friendship with the mage would be harder than Akiha and Subaru. ]

It's the only way it'll survive.

[Akiha squeezed Katina once before letting her go. It took a few seconds, eyes closed, before she could settle down and her hair darkened.]
