Akiha wasn't an idiot. As angry and hurt as she was, she knew Katina well enough to have come to her own conclusion regarding this. And it might have even been half right.
"No. She wasn't going to tell you. She wasn't going to tell me," Akiha said to Subaru, shaking her head though her gaze stayed on Katina. "She's only saying something now because she got caught."
Akiha's eyes blazed as she felt her demon side push and demand in the back of her mind, her willpower barely keeping her from lashing out. She was feeling it again, feeling it so acutely again...
"Again... Once again... I'm not good enough. You don't like me enough to choose me and another woman's in the way." Her eyes move back over to Subaru for a moment, and it was almost like looking into the eyes of a demon before she looked back at Katina.

The words from before, from back then, pushed forward in her mind. She almost gave in. Almost. Sweat beaded on her forehead as she forced the impulse back.
