Alice and Battler

Characters: Alice Margatroid and Battler Ushiromiya
Date: December 22nd
Summary: Two witches in a hut, surrounded by snow.
Warnings: Inevitable perverted Battler related shenanigans. Among the normal stuff for the event.

When Alice awoke, she obviously found herself in a not so familiar place. Even through her still half-asleep vision, she could easily tell this. Of course, she wasn't exactly staying in one place before, but she knew better than to stay in a place like this.

She knew something was going on, that much was obvious. After glancing about for a bit, the situation was a bit easier to figure out. She was in a small house, if you could even call it that, with not much in terms of anything. Just something to sleep in, and what looked like some facilities. However, it all looked much better than outside. There was snow, lots and lots of snow. So much that she could barely see if anything else was outside, or if there was anything else outside!

But Alice also noticed something else that was inside with her. It was someone else, someone vaguely familiar at least.

"There is certainly a mystery here, but I don't think it's the kind you're thinking of." Alice replied. While it is a mystery as to why they were here in this situation, this did not seem like one that was meant to be solved.

"So what are you we supposed to do anyway?" Battler wondered, before noticing the single sleeping bag. "Ihihi, don't tell me we're supposed to climb in that thing together or something?"

Missing the possible intent of that laugh, Alice already had an idea. "If we consider our situation, I believe it's so we can keep warm."

"It is chilly, isn't it?" Battler agreed, before a dumb smile crept on her face. "Alright! If that's the case, I'll do my best to warm you up."

"Well, that seems rather nice of you. But would you be okay with that?" Alice said, likely coming off as some sort of clueless idiot.

"It's more than okay, I'd be happy to!" Battler exclaimed, perhaps seeming a bit too excited about it.

It was hard to miss the excitement in her voice. It was also getting harder to miss that something was feeling rather odd. More odd in addition to the original oddness.

"Aren't you... a bit too enthusiastic about that?"

"Ihihi, isn't it best to try to be enthusiastic about everything you do?"

She did her best to look as serious as she could as she said it, realizing she was perhaps appearing a bit too happy with the situation. But who could help it? It was a rather happy scenario.

"Well, there are things I may do that I wouldn't be all the enthusiastic to do." Was the answer. She really could think of a few things like that. Alice was getting the feeling her house mate was rather energetic.

"That's true, there are certain things you just can't get excited about," Battler agreed, deflating a bit.

But just as quickly she perked up and smiled once more. "But this definitely isn't one of those things~"

"You know, I feel like I'm missing something here." Alice said, with a hint of a sigh. Even the most friendly of people wouldn't get like this for doing a job of helping someone, right?

"I'm just happy to be of assistance!" Battler grinned, before suddenly glomping onto the other girl. If it wasn't obvious what her ulterior motives were before, it certainly should have been now.

Taken by surprise, this caused Alice to fall over. Still taken by surprise, her mind was racing to catch up to what just happened. A response came quick. "W...What was that for!?"

"Warming up, obviously! Wasn't this the plan?" Battler asked, still cuddling up against her without a care in the world.

"Plan? This wasn't part of any plan! Why are you doing this!" Alice said, her voice raised but she was still trying to keep it down. She had no idea why this was happening, in fact she probably couldn't put what this was into words.

"Body heat," Battler grinned, feeling it was quite the obvious conclusion. "Weren't we going to... ah, right, we need to crawl into the sleeping bag, huh?"

And without any further adieu, she'll proceed to try to drag Alice over to it.

Alice grabbed onto the arm that was dragging her. "Now just wait a minute. Just say what you are going to do."

While being in the sleeping bag would be the most ideal place to share body heat, after that last little activity, Alice was a bit cautious and wanted to know everything now.

"Get in the sleeping bag with you, obviously," she smiled, doing her best to look innocent.

"Didn't we already agree on this?"

"I don't recall agreeing to anything." Was the answer. She only mentioned what might be required here. Alice was getting a little annoyed.

"Backing down now?" Battler asked, looking quite disappointed. But she brightened up quickly, that same strange smile creeping onto her face. "But then what else are we going to do?"

That was a good question. What else would they do? Thinking on it, Alice did remember a 'weird mystery' being brought up, so she decided to run with that.

"We haven't seen everything that is here. We may find something weird, like a secret staircase." Although she said that, she wasn't entirely convinced of it.

"Heh, looking for a secret passage? It's against Knox's rules, but there could be done," Battler admitted, as she began to peruse around. "But even if there is one, if its hidden well enough we might never find it."

Rules? Alice didn't care who that was or what rules they set. If there were rules, it was by that queen and her people.

"It's not like we would spend much time looking. We don't have much to explore."

It wasn't long before completing her search; the room was pretty barren to begin with, so there wasn't much in terms of hiding places.

"No luck here. How about you?"

Alice had taken to searching areas above. As in, the ceiling. She was currently floating up there, giving a close inspection.

However, her answer was the same. "Nothing. I'd like to restate my opinion of someone screwing with us."
