A Later Birthday

Summary: Xion's birthday party is on! Let's all have fun!
Warnings: None as of yet!

The inside and outside of the treehouse has been decorated, and everything has been set up. There is food on tables set up, and a cake that had been made just for the party. It's a bright day, and everything couldn't be going better.

So enjoy the party, guests. It'll be going on for a better part of the day.

Yes, things are okay. I just wasn't sure what to do while I was waiting for everyone. I hope Xion likes the party...

Ah, Alfimi, there you are. I have a few tasks for you.

[Kuja proceeds to recite a list of items within the Treehouse that need to be moved outside, or to different parts of the Treehouse.]

Oh, Kuja! Certainly! [She gives Kuja a small bow and then skips off.]

[Alfimi takes to her tasks, humming. She moves things small enough for her to lift on her own manually, and for anything bigger, she'll hug the item and then teleport it to the desired location. She returns to Kuja after a few minutes.]

[Hikari is so glad to be able to celebrate the birthday of one of the first people she met here, almost eight months ago. She's also glad she got to help out with decorating and food.

She is standing around, looking happy and social.]

Mm, I did, Boyette-san! I helped put together the first draft of the menu, and with the preparation of some of the food.

Those peanut-butter cookies were mostly me.

You know who is a terrible guest? Jessica. She is not very good at this "settling down and just chatting" thing. She is instead making sure all the decorations are properly secured, then cleaning and straightening the refreshments, then evening out the chairs. Though there are pauses for nibbling snacks, because nervous nibbling is the only way to get through these things.

"Calm down there. I know we have something of an animal problem, but I didn't think ants in the pants was a serious issue."

Like usual since she's been around here, Axel has the nasty habit of just popping up. She does it now, suddenly just leaning against the wall next to Jessica with what looks like a smooth smile.

In all honesty, she feels awkward. She still can't remember Xion, but there's definitely something there, and she's done enough lying to know that Xion isn't. But hey, small talk.

She jumps and turns, regarding Axel neutrally for a moment. "Huh, you don't have white hair."

With a shrug, she adds, "Yeah, I'm just bad at parties if I'm not the one running 'em."

[Kuja is more concerned with her decorations than with the purpose of the party or those attending. She floats (both literally and figuratively) on the borders of the gathering. She's made a trellis to surround the area, created entirely of vines and flowers.

She makes sure the little lights pinned to the air are shining, like stars of rose and lavender. She creates illusions of butterflies, and of bright and twisting patterns that shift across the ground. Whatever strikes her fancy. All of it meaningless, but it distracts her from other thoughts, maintaining these scraps of magic.

She glares at the food and occasionally moves to give some orders. Any piece of refuse that falls to earth will shortly be incinerated.]

[Souji is off to the side, dutifully preparing food - most of it was done already, but she knew she could take her time with the more fancy dishes and was taking advantage of that - and doing her best to ignore the glaring from the other gray-haired girl.]

Xion has been out and about all day, and now that she's returned home, something looks...different. What's going on? She heads up the stairs, looking around curiously.

Alfimi spots Xion, and waits until she gets inside. "Happy Birthday, Xion!" She jumps up and cheers, full of energy.

She pauses, confused.

"Happy....Birthday? But I don't have a--" Yet Alfimi looks so happy, she doesn't want to ruin it.

"Um, thank you--what's all this?"

And a pat to the birthday girl's head once everyone else has had their turn and Axel can just... slip in through. She still looks a bit awkward, but she's doing her best to be honest in her smile.

"You're definitely a lot more good at this people thing that Roxas is, Xion."

"Axel!" She nearly grabs the woman's hand in her excitement. Even not remembering her, she came? Nothing could make Xion happier.

"People thing? You mean...making friends? Well, I'm sure everyone would like Roxas if he...she...came back."

She's practically bouncing up and down with excitement in the meantime. "I....I can't believe they all did this for me! It's amazing!"

[Hikari looks up from who she's been talking to at hearing the footsteps, and she smiles brightly when she sees its the guest of honor.]
