Characters: [livejournal.com profile] hotshot_momma, Sergeant Ginga, OPEN

Date: Forward-dated to midday, November 30th

Summary: Trying to find out what the edge of this world is like and bring back potentially useful information and things.

Warnings: General weirdness. Optional Wild effects. Will add more as needed.

Anna was at the edge of the gardens, holding supplies in a sling made from her dress at Zero Hour. "We don't know what's out here, or what we're going to see," she said. "This is a scout run."

[identity profile] not-giga-drill.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Ginga reflexively saluted in response, even though Anna wasn't technically her superior officer. This was Anna's idea, so Ginga was content with letting her lead the expedition.

She was holding a similar 'bag of supplies' in the same manner as Anna.

"Hello!"

A cheerful Tenshi arrived. Her 'supply bag' sitting strapped on a small keystone floating after her. It probably contained peaches and water, but then, as a celestial she was supposed to be ascetic. Well, supposed to

She wasn't visibly armed, but that didn't stop her.

Ahsoka approached, walking through the trees, calm as could be. She was tossing an apple up and down in one hand, but otherwise seemed not to have any supplies with her. She did, however, have a fully stocked belt and belt pouches––repugnant but edible food capsules, the comlink that didn't work, breathing apparatus, all those little Jedi doodads and, of course, lightsaber. In fact, two of them.

She saw the small group gathering and raised her hand to wave; "Major Lin?"

[identity profile] aunomdedieu.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Caprica, like some of the others, had collected a bag full of supplies — she could have survived longer without food or water, but she didn't particularly want to. Already she'd started to wonder what she was doing, if this was a good idea... but what she'd told Anna over the Vine had been true; she was curious. And she was tired of feeling ineffective.

She wasn't sure what was stranger — the obviously non-human girl who seemed to have arrived just before she did, or the blue-haired woman with the floating bag — but she tried to keep her staring to a minimum. Instead, she made her way in from the edge of the small group, opting to stay quiet and observe for the moment.

Kanaya had no need of such bags or accessories to carry her provisions. Admittedly, she'd considered the idea temporarily; however, a bag was a luxury she couldn't really afford at the moment, as the only spare material nearby was to be found from the few outfits she'd arrived with. And, to be blunt, there was no way in this universe or the previous that she was going to ruin them. So instead Kanaya had spent the first few hours of the morning foraging through bushes, orchards, and the game reserves to find what seemed to be the most edible foods, then simply stored all of it in her Chastity Modus. She'd find the key when she was ready to use it, and only then.

Her packing done and her lipstick/chainsaw stored away until needed, Kanaya Maryam set out towards the meeting place. A few short minutes of walking proved to be more than enough, and she soon found herself within eyesight of the group of five.

Damn, all but one of them seemed human. What was with these universes/dimensions all using the basic human format? It was so... bland. Admittedly, a bit more of a focus on fashion was never a bad thing, and Kanaya supposed that having such neutral characteristics was what forced that on their part. (They didn't even have any horns!) Still, the red-skinned one was certainly interesting. Making a mental note to talk to them later, the empty-handed Kanaya moved forward once more towards the group.

"Greetings. I can only assume that this is the expeditionary force...?"

[identity profile] peachhat.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Quite a lot of people you gathered here." Tenshi observed, looking around. Kanaya seemed of particular interest, due to the horns.
"For those who don't know me - as in most of you - I'm Tenshi Hinanai. I'm a celestial from a world called Gensokyo, nice to see others are interested in what's going on, too!"

She didn't spot the listening eyes and ears (not that she was particularly worried about revealing things), and instead turned elsewhere...after all, they were still waiting for a Miss Bouquet, whoever that was, and there was the 'oni'.

Innocently, she walked closer to Kanaya, and waved her hand, causing another floating rock to appear next to her. She promptly sat down on it, and looked at Kanaya. "You're an Oni?" she asked innocently, her rock floating in the air as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

[identity profile] grimauspistice.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Tano. Caprica. Tenshi Hinanai. Kanaya took note of each name, quickly assigning a face to each for later. Not that prolonged interaction was really expected with anyone but the Apprentice - it simply made understanding any orders or making any suggestions much easier on her part. Even if she wasn't a leader, she was fully in control of the situation.

She quite enjoyed being in control of things in general, to be honest.

The sudden appearance of a rock did little to phase her - likely some simple sylladex modus, requiring only gestures to access inventory space - and Kanaya redirected her gaze to the Celestial without the slightest change of expression. "Not particularly. Unless that word means something in your universe that I'm presently unaware of." A quick flick of the wrist brought out her lipstick, and Kanaya traced out a quick black coat. Yes, her lips were already black, but as any true troll lady knew it was always possible to make them blacker.

Her makeup-weaponry having done its job suitably well, Kanaya opened her palm (leaving the tube nowhere in sight - where, exactly, had it gone?) before talking once again to Tenshi. "The term you are looking for would be 'troll.' Or possibly Alternian, if we're simply discussing planet of origin."

[identity profile] quarkleader.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It was at this point that Maria approached the group, having just overheard Kanaya's last few lines. "It's interesting to note what planets exist in other people's worlds," she remarked.

She'd gathered a small amount of fruit from the Orchard, and she carried it in a makeshift bag she'd made from the shift she'd been wearing when she first found herself in the Gardens. Her phase gun was, as ever, holstered on the belt around her waist. As leader of a rebel group, she knew all too well how important it was to be prepared for a potentially dangerous situation.

"Sorry if I've kept you guys waiting," she said. "If I've missed any important discussion, I'd appreciate being filled in on the details." She then took the opportunity to have a good look at who exactly she was going to be working with on this expedition. "You've certainly got quite the gathering here, Anna," she observed... and upon realising that Anna was the only person here she even recognised, she added, "For those who don't know me, I'm Maria Traydor. Good to know you all."

Ahsoka, too, was busy attaching names to faces; the blond human was Caprica, the dark-haired human woman the Major Anna Lin who knew what a Jedi was––and, apparently, Ahsoka noted with a bit of relief, something of what Jedi could do. That would save her some explanations. Although it also made her only more curious as to how the soldier knew so much. The other faces were not attached to names she had learned yet, but she nodded at them in turn as they arrived, respectful and appropriate for a Padawan.

The nonhuman, Kanaya, caught her attention in particular (in return, though she had not noticed), simply for being the first being of another species Ahsoka had seen, here, yet.

But she looked back to Anna after a moment. "Ahsoka is fine, you don't need to be formal. And the creepy fog? I don't feel anything out there. Small animals, maybe," she paused, and let her awareness stretch outwards. "A few predators." What she would have been tempted to class 'minor' predators; anything that couldn't eat you in less than two bites. She hesitated, and then added, "But the Force is strange here; it's... sort of like it's strong, but not in any way I've felt before. The whole place is strong, you know? That might be causing the feeling of anxiety." Which, loathe as she was to admit it, she, too was feeling.

Ginga had been waiting for the others to show up... this was probably all of them at this point? She didn't really react much at the non-humans, it wasn't entirely strange considering her line of work.

"Ginga Nakajima. I look forward to working with all of you," she said, introducing herself.

She then took in what Ahsoka said, before suggesting, "We should be proceed carefully, then. Are we waiting for anybody else?"

[identity profile] shien-reverse.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Not really a psychic, precisely," Ahsoka chimed in. "I'm a Jedi. Well. Jedi Padawan."

[identity profile] aunomdedieu.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Caprica was listening to the conversation, eyes flitting from one person to the next as each spoke, filing away faces and names in her memory. Ahsoka she recognized, from having spoken with her over the Vine — so that was what she looked like. It was strange, yes, but Caprica wasn't frightened or disgusted; she'd gotten over her initial shock, and now, she was curious. She'd have to ask Ahsoka a few questions about herself later — her, and the gray-skinned one Anna had called Kanaya.

Listening to the others describe what were apparently powers they had — it sounded like something out of a human myth, but Caprica had already started to learn that it was best to take everything with a grain of salt in this place — she shook her head. "I don't have any abilities like that. But I can fight." Very, very well, actually. "If we're lucky, though, we won't need to."

She wasn't counting on it, and moreover, she didn't believe in luck. They'd be destined to get through this safely, or they wouldn't, and that wasn't something she could know.

America runs up to the group fashionably late like always. She doesn't really have any special supplies, only that her dress was made into a revealing crop top and short skirt, because obviously the dresses weren't skimpy enough.

"Hey! Do I get to save the day yet?"

[identity profile] sheroic.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course!" And so America puts her hands on her hips and puffs her chest out to look completely confident and heroic.

"I'm the United States of America and I'll be your heroine today!" She waits a few moments before giggling to herself, "That was totally awesome and heroic, right?"

[identity profile] grimauspistice.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Kanaya can't help but shoot a very subtle glare in America's direction. Great, yet another human to add to the group. One who has shredded their (rather cute, Kanaya felt) dress into some primitive semblance of 'fashionable' wear. Points for effort, yes, but none for execution. And since humans seemed much more well-dressed on average than trolls anyway... not a single tick on the Fashionometer. Not one.

And better yet, from the sounds of it, she's as vapid as they come. An impressive feat for a member of an already lackluster race. Kanaya makes a mental note to possibly offer congratulations on that front (and immediately discards it - sarcasm is Really Not Her Thing, after all) before moving forward slightly.

"Kanaya Maryam. A pleasure to meet you, America - shall I monitor our surroundings in a desperate attempt to ensure that nothing will damage your dress any further?"

...okay, so maybe that sarcasm thing had something going for it.

America blinks in confusion for a moment before she laughs loudly.

"This is how you dress in America, duh! I guess, like, an alien like you wouldn't know that!" America is quite familiar with aliens, she's positive this girl is one.

Totally no second thoughts why she asked this.

[identity profile] peachhat.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Your world sounds really quite silly." Tenshi remarked to America, looking her up and down.

"So, what do you do as a heroine? Stop people from, say, earthquaking a nation? If so, how?"

Robin was out exploring as well. She'd received directions from the cats to the Ruins and had seen enough there to know she needed to find more context about this place.

There were three people so far who had caught her interest the most, and Major Anna Lin was one of them. So when she posted a call for a scouting mission, Robin quickly sought them out. Any excuse to utilize the power of the military for her own gains was a good plan, for Robin.

She was still extremely discrete about it, sending blossomed ears out ahead of her to try to pinpoint their direction without giving her position away. Thankfully, a cheerful "Hello!" provided that insight, along with two names - Hinanai and Nakajima.

Leaving that blossom in place, Robin moved only slightly closer - still more than 30 feet away, but enough to see the area where the Major was gathering her group. Then, Robin manifested a set of eyes hidden in the leaves of a nearby tree along with another ear, letting the first ear disappear. Satisfied that she could do some solid reconnaissance while they were chatting, she turned away from them and ducked behind the hedge so as not to look like she was the one doing any spying.

She quickly started jotting down notes about the people Major Anna Lin was gathering, and used an extra pair of blossomed hands to refer to her earlier notes taken from Vine sources. She hadn't completely ruled out the possibility of revealing herself to these people, but there was no way she was going in unprepared.
