Summary: A slumber party, but it seems the faerie that Nue and Sanae raised is gonna be causing some trouble

Meiling wasn't about to pass up an opportunity like this. It wasn't every day that she would be invited to a slumber party by Sanae! She was really excited for it, and it was pretty obviously thanks to the easily noticeable smile on the gatekeeper's face. Even if she wasn't exactly sure of what to expect with such a gathering...

With a bag slung over her shoulder, Meiling made it to the shrine and casually let herself indoors.

"Hello, everybody!" Oh yeah, she was definitely in a good mood today!

And of course, a smile like that was pretty infectious to someone like Fionna. She was more than happy to be going to this slumber party, but was obviously nervous about making a good impression at this thing.

So upon seeing Meiling, she felt a lot better.

"Hey," she said. "How's it going? I'm Fionna!"

[cleaningstop]

"Oh, hello!" She offered the blond girl a friendly wave. "It's nice to meet you, Fionna. My name is Hong Meiling! A-Ah, but you can just call me Meiling. It's going really well so far, I'm really glad that I could come here today."

"Of course I did, and nice to meet you!" Fionna said, smiling. "Sanae is a friend of mine, and I never went to a sleepover before. Can't wait to see what happens here!"

[cleaningstop]

"I don't think I can remember the last time I was invited to one quite like this." Though the Mistress would often throw parties, none of them really had the a 'feel' of a slumber party. But surely an expert like Sanae would host one that was completely genuine!

"I'm also wondering about what to expect. It seems pretty exciting so far!"

[fionna_time]

"We kinda had parties like this in Ooo," Fionna said thoughtfully, "but those things weren't sleepovers, I really had those with Cake. All we'd do is talk about weird junk and laugh and eat stuff. It'll be kinda different here, right?"

She nodded. "What would YOU do at a slumber party?"

[cleaningstop]

"I think it'll be different. I'm not too sure, really. Maybe we should ask Sanae once we get a chance? Or we could just wait and see what happens! That way we could really be surprised about it!" Both seemed like pretty good choices to Meiling, as far as she knew.

"As for what I'd do... I would probably talk all about my homeland!" Not like she needed a slumber party to do that.

Fionna was still hoping she didn't manage to make herself look stupid in this sleepover. It started out kind of strange, and she seemed to already be getting off on the wrong foot with people.

"Talk about your homeland?" She was curious. "What would you say about it? Its that interestin'?"

[cleaningstop]

"Of course it's interesting!" And that was all Meiling needed to get started. "No other country can match mine in terms of history, culture, or in any other aspect! Compared to 4,000 years... there's just no way anywhere else could even begin to come close."

Wow, she definitely was all about where she came from, huh? Not that Fionna minded all too much: Ooo was ok, but was anything really worth talking about all that much?

Well, maybe this girl's world?

"Like what?"

[cleaningstop]

"Like... The writings and stories that were made. Why, just talking about those alone would take me hours and hours. Days, even!" Much more time than she had available to her during the slumber party.

[fionna_time]

"I don't really think we have days to be talking about stuff like that though," Fionna said, looking sensible for once. "Maybe we should stick to the kinda junk you do in a slumber party."

[cleaningstop]

And it was really unfortunate that there wasn't enough time for any of that. Meiling was certain that it would've grabbed everybody's attention. It was her homeland, after all! "What exactly does one do in a slumber party? N-Not that I don't already know! But it's been so long, I could use a helpful reminder."

And thus enters the only reason Alice is here, really. Why Alice is came first is a series of good questions that shall not be answered here.

Alice didn't speak up, but gave another wave. She really just didn't know what to say.

There may or may not have been a nap and some oversleeping as factors regarding why Meiling had arrived after Alice. But while the puppeteer was content to just a simple wave, Meiling would... do what she always did.

"Hey, Alice!" Walk over to her and be her typical friendly self. "Isn't this something? I've been really excited for this ever since Sanae invited me over!"

Alice should have checked, honestly. But she never would have considered someone would miss a slumber party by... sleeping.

"...Yes? Of course this is something. It is a slumber party... although the party part of it is rather lacking." And blunt honesty from Alice.

[cleaningstop]

"You think so?" Meiling didn't know if she agreed with that, seeing as how there were already quite a few other women present. "Well, it's still early. There's plenty of time to things to pick up, especially when it gets closer to the evening!" Sanae made it seem like that was when the slumber party really got started, after all.

That actually caught her attention. "Is something supposed to happen?" Alice hadn't been informed of this. Not that she was entirely willing to come, so that may be it.

[cleaningstop]

"Oh yes, absolutely! At least... I... think so?" Meiling was starting to realize just how limited her knowledge on sleepovers truly was. "I'm... pretty sure that something will happen. Something good!"

Oh Meiling... "You've never did this before either, have you?"

[cleaningstop]

"D-Don't be silly, of course I have! I just... can't remember any of those times right now. It'll come back to me, just wait!"

Alice didn't have a reply to that. She was honestly brought to silence by that.

[cleaningstop]

"What?" It wasn't as though she was lying to Alice and trying to save face. Heavens no! "In any case, this is going to be a fun night for both you and me. I can tell!"

"Really?" It's not that she doesn't believe you, Meiling. It's that the thought of herself having fun here sounds alien.

[cleaningstop]

"Well... yes?" Given how Sanae was behind it, Meiling couldn't see how it wouldn't end up being fun. "Didn't you come here because you wanted to experience it yourself?"
