the world may say what it will

Characters: Grell and Kuja
Date: 5/30
Summary: After things coming to conclusions, two angels of death start plotting.
Warnings: Definitely talk about death.

She has been looking for her since noon.

Of course, she knows where to go, but walking slowly, taking the long route, it helps solidify her request, the glass bottle in her pocket weighing it down and reminding her of what she was going to ask. She dare not ask for more from the doctor, not when it would run so close to this plan if Kuja was to agree.

But she gets to the treehouse in time, she sees Kuja from behind, and she calls out.

"My lady."

When Kuja turns around, Grell will have her head bowed in respect.

"Fear," she says quietly, then smiles. She knows--she's supposed to be better, to be kinder, but what purpose does that serve here, when kindness and agreeableness is what the Queen wants? Kuja doesn't enjoy being a plaything, a doll. So the Queen is her enemy.

"They could stand to feel fear. They may have forgotten. They seem so complacent now, and complacency does no one any good. There's a reason people feel fear. It keeps them alert. It keeps them alive. Vital and vivid. Don't you agree?"

She bows her head. "I'll help you." She's immune to poison herself, so it's a completely distant kind of death, one that could never touch her. "Poison. A good idea. Quiet and subtle and difficult to trace."
