Summary: Kris is visiting Katina to chill out. Katina gets some misconceptions out of the way.

Hahaha, what a great day for a vacation. A vacation from home. Akiha needed some alone time, clearly. But boy, that was a fast celebration for marriage. Wait a minute...did they even have a celebration? If they did and didn't invite Kris, she was about to actually get mad. Akiha getting married didn't bother her, surprisingly, but leaving her out of the celebration was pretty cold.

It was almost...ALMOST enough to cause Kris to go back and confront Akiha over it.

But that meant she'd have to waste a spell to go back and she might need it later. It was enough to make her forget the idea altogether. Instead, she knocked on Katina's front door. Yes, she got here by teleporting. If anyone thought Kris would actually walk, they'd be in for a surprise.

"I prefer not to be determined at all." She spent her youth fighting to live every day. Kris thinks she's earned the right to be lazy.

"You're pretty young to be that lazy. Most people have more ambition at your age!"

"How old do you think I am?"

Katina took a moment, looking Kris over. "Not any older than I am, unless you've got some kinda magic that makes you look young."

Kris tilted her head. "How old are you?"

[grandtheftmecha]

"If my birthday here counts, twenty-six." The thought of actually getting older here wasn't a pleasant one...

"That must be nice. I don't know how old I am." She couldn't count for the majority of her life, can't blame her.

[grandtheftmecha]

"Huh. I guess you aren't from anywhere where the government wants to keep track of that, then."

[ported]

"The government? What do you mean by that?"

[grandtheftmecha]

"You know, like.... the people who run things? You have to at least have something like a king right?"

[ported]

"Oh, yeah! We have a king but I've never seen the king before."

[grandtheftmecha]

"Doesn't he have servants or minions or whatever who run things? Collect taxes, run the military, yadda yadda?"

"Maybe. I've never really cared about that kind of thing so I don't know if he does."

[grandtheftmecha]

"You have some kind of talent for ignoring things don't you?" It's an art form.

[ported]

"I didn't ignore anyone though." No one has the guts to visit the city's magic user and demand things from her, that's all.

[grandtheftmecha]

"You'd have to to not even know if you've got a government! That's just... something you don't even really learn, it's all over the place."

"People just don't bother me, that's all!" She swears that's it.

[grandtheftmecha]

"Do you fireball them if they do?"

[ported]

"I've never had a chance to try that out...."

[grandtheftmecha]

"Turn 'em into frogs?"

[ported]

"I don't know that spell."

[grandtheftmecha]

"I bet people are too scared to even find out what you'd do to 'em."

"I don't think I can argue about that."

"It's a good thing there are a lot of stubborn and crazy people here to get along with here."

"That's true. Everyone I know seems to be like that."
