"Could have fooled me," came the cutting remark back just before Akiha disappeared into the sitting room, assuming Katina would follow her.
Once in the room, Akiha immediately took a decanter out from a glass cabinet, undid the stopper, and added a generous amount of amber-colored liquor to her cup of tea. If she was going to have to deal with the combination of the egg and Katina, she was allowed to break some tea protocol and add the whiskey to it. As an afterthought, she pulled a small glass out and filled it for Katina, leaving it on the low table before the chairs.
Sitting down, she sipped her tea with sigh and picked her book up. Clearly, she had no intention on interacting with the irritating egg. One would think she never had a mother from the way she seemed to not care about the fact that there was a crying egg in her mansion.
