That playfulness earns Jules an eye roll and she shakes her head, leaning her cheek on her arms instead, just half-staring at the notes without actually paying attention to them, drumming her fingers against the wooden table.

"They are, actually, I'll give you that much" she concedes to Jules' statement with a small sigh, rubbing her nose. "But you would be surprised with the short number of the population around here that are of legal drinking age and from Earth." She straightens her back, sitting up a little better so that she can take her glass of wine and take a sip. "The sudden realization that most people here are not normal can be very..." What's the word? "Perplexing."

And by normal she means from Earth where nothing like explosions and war happen, or explosions and wars and bridges falling down or giant robots or magical girls, or people that basically come from the future - at least, 2007 is definitely the future for Em. So, yes, all those things that most people that have ended up in this place seem to be both used to and sometimes even comfortable with. She has seen plenty of girls being completely unfazed about the magic dirt and even saw a couple of them freaking dueling. It's all very distressing to Em. She wouldn't be surprised if she grew a few grey hairs because of this place.
