The type of person Jules is, it's rare for Em to actually enjoy their company, but if for some reason she ends up stumbling on a rarity like her, usually the friendship she forms with said person is rather solid - like Dennis back home, he was her cheery person. In fact, Jules very much reminds Em of him and honestly? She does need one of those people in her life at the moment. Her being an adult also helps.

Besides, it's not very easy for Em herself to ever refuse wine and cigarettes and any sort of distraction from this place. Walking over to her, she sits down next to Jules without looking at the papers - not that she could anyway, with Jules' arms laying over them like that - and taking one of the cigarettes as invited to do so. She doesn't seem to understand the gesture of covering the papers, of course, since Jules... activities are the furthest away from her mind.

"Thank you," she digs into the pocket of her jeans, the right one, then the left, finally taking the lighter out. She burns the tip of the cigarette and takes a small drag, leaning her chin on her hand. "How have you been?"
