THE GOOD SHIP LABRYS

Wave One: The approach on the ship! A solid defense is mounted by the enemy. The Pirate Queen, tall and imposing at the helm of her ship, grins a menacing smile at the oncoming assault. It is barely a motion with her gleaming sword that signals a swathe of her many skeletons to break themselves apart, refitting themselves into tightly knit shields, their vacant eyes peering out from where their skulls are inlaid. Their eerie laughter rings out, echoing amongst the clouds. A flag is hoisted. More skeletons still come to stand upon the deck, others scurrying about below to prepare the cannons... Projectiles Arrows: The skeletons' barrage of arrows come in several varieties. There are wooden arrows, and there are bone arrows, both have a standard and a weighted variety. Wooden arrows may also come in flaming, while bone arrows my also come spined and incredibly painful to pull out. Some may be tipped in poison of varying effects which range from confusion, blindness, nausea, and incapacitation. Flash bombs: These small bombs do not do much by way of damage, but they do release a large amount of smoke and blinding light. Cannon fire: There are a number of variations to the items that will be fired from these cannons. There are classic cannonballs, both in a small and a large size, which are deadly enough! You will also have shrapnel balls shot at you, wads of cutlery and whatever else the skeletons could get their hands on. Jars filled with leaping spiders and hornets will also be fired. The jars themselves are prepped to weaken but not break when fired, but when pierced with an arrow they release a cloud of angry and dangerous insects. Some of those spider bites could rot a limb, be careful. The final items are packets of powder which, like the insects, will spread themselves like a cloud. Breathing in these powders can cause similar poisonous effects as the arrows, and they can also cause hallucination and narcolepsy. Try not to fall off your horse. Chain hooks: Watch out for these heavy grappling hooks, they will try to catch your delicate ship and pull you in. The Pirate Queen is not opposed to taking further captives. Wave Two: The shields are penetrated, warriors begin to enclose on the ship. The skeletons fight on, and from a clay jar, the Pirate Queen releases another gambit for her success. A serpent of bone glides free, growing ever larger as it writhes outwards into the sky, row after row of ribs breaking free from its prison. The clouds darken as it winds among them, the air growing stifling and electrified. Its first screaming ululation sends an arc of lightning streaking towards the Garden's defenders. The wind grows dangerous, and the serpent is lunging after the agile Tamamushi as the sky breaks out into a wild storm, rain smashing into flying machines and pirate ship alike. But the skeletons have no eyes to be blinded by rain. Instructions: You may play out any point of this battle at any time. You could start later, and then get an idea for something that could have been awesome earlier and go backwards. In fact, we encourage this and your creativity. All you need to do is label your thread so other players know! The skeletal dragon is enormous and it will be a cumulative effort to kill it. If you want to play out giving it the killing blow, go ahead, it probably took all of you anyway. Please remember, all work on the ground continues during this battle! |
Wave Two - Closed (Dizzy)
«Sys---- inter--rence. Po---r --ne.»
[ Subaru has no time to react to her partner's status update, as the combination of the release of all that energy and the power drain nearly knocks her out. Silently, she drops right out of the sky, barrier jacket buffeting in the wind as she plummets through the line of clouds. ]

Regardless, Dizzy had managed to snatch up the cyborg girl, thinking nothing of her weight. She flapped her wings several times before shifting direction to head back into the support lines.-
It's okay... I've got you now...

Are you okay?

[ She's still wearing her equipment, so she jerks upright as best as she can without risking slipping from that grasp. If she has to sling an arm around her shoulders, so be it.
Sighing in relief before she looks around. ] Just rebooting... good.
Where are we? [ Looking up. ] What's happening, now?

Did you see anyone else get caught? [ Rattling off a few names of her free-flying allies. ]

[ And that's also when she becomes more aware of just who exactly has her held, and what she looks like. It startles her a bit. ] Ah! Ahah, sorry for this... you must be pretty strong, but I know I'm kind of heavy. Do you want to set me down?

This might not be the best time for introductions, but I'm Subaru. It's nice to meet you, even like this, eheh.

-Because she was still taking the "drop" part, literally. Right of the sky, in fact.-

Thank you for flying Guilty Gear Airlines. Please leave your trays in the full upright position and exit the winged girl to the left.-

Can I...? [ Pointing down at her feet. It'll be a bit awkward to set her down, Subaru thinks, since her skates are just so much heavier than they should be. ]

Subaru flips over onto her backside and reaches down to undo the emergency release on her skates. ] Whew.
