Odds of this being pleasant for them are slim.

Waking up on Valentine's Day, Larry had intended to be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary. A romantic holiday, and a Queen who loves to encourage romance - of course something would happen. If they were lucky it would be mundane, but how often were they lucky?

Unfortunately, the something that happened couldn't be looked out for, or if it could, then she'd failed, because she found herself drawn to... something. Some direction. As she made her way across the gardens, bleary-eyed and hastily dressed, Larry figured that it was almost certainly someone that she was being drawn to.

Gavril, dressed as always in a pair of leather pants, a jacket, and little else, to found herself drawn by some mysterious force in a seemingly random direction. She had little idea what was drawing her in, though she imagined the queen had something to do with it, and was in a fairly foul mood about the matter as she trudged across the garden.

Larry on the other hand didn't even have her shirt on straight. At least she remembered pants. Yawning, she raised her arms to stretch, back cracking as she leaned against a tree. It would help if she knew who she was being drawn towards, but resisting feels like it would be too hard to be worth it. She rounded a corner, spotting a familiar...

Figure. "Oh, uh. It's Gavril."

As Larry came into view, Gavril couldn't help but instantly begin her usual tirade of profanity and insults. "Well good-fucking-morning to you to, girly." Gavril's words were tinged with a mixture of anger and sleepiness.

"Ugh. Good morning." Some nice adrenaline made a decent caffeine substitute at the sight of Gavril, despite not really being afraid of her the way she was at one point. "It's a little early for the Queen to be screwing with us. I should've just slept in."

"Agreed. If the Queen-Bitch was trying to get us all to hook up yet again she could have at least waited until noon or so." Gavril rolled her eyes, she already had someone special in her life. So the current situation felt painfully pointless to the zombie-girl.

Larry's single, but Gavril's... not her last choice for someone she'd want to be with, that award probably goes to the troll queen, but she's pretty far down the list. "How about we go get coffee then. If we can't get enough sleep we can at least go wake ourselves up, right?"

She still wasn't entirely sure what the conditions of the situation were, other than wanting to be physically close to each other.

"If we're gonna be stuck together for awhile, I guess there's worse ways to spend some time." Gavril responded in a very flat manner. "Guess I should ask where we're heading then."

"Uh, well, we could go back to my place... we don't really have a diner here, and it's a little early to go to a bar." She knew she'd end up drinking if they went, and that was one habit she didn't want to get into. "Unless you've got a better idea."

"Sounds good to me~" Gavril flashed a smile that put her jagged teeth into full view for good measure. "Not like I have anything better to do right now."

Yes, she knows you have nice teeth please put them away. "Me neither, especially now that I'm stuck with you. So let's get going." She turned, waiting for Gavril before heading off towards her home away from home.

"You got it." Gavril tagged along just behind Larry, trying her best to looked interested in the event at hand.

Larry sighed, walking with her arms crossed. This is not her idea of a good day, even here. She never likes being compelled to do anything, and she couldn't even get someone like Utena or Jessica to get stuck with. "What have you been doing lately anyways?"

"Well, I held another hunt just awhile ago and manned the BBQ at Zinc's party held recently." Gavril actually seemed happy to be discussing such things. "I've been doing a lot for Zinc in general, though."

That was actually a refreshing change of pace from the mood Gavril was in last time they ran into each other. "Oh yeah? I haven't really talked with her much. What's she like?"

"She's really quiet most of the time and doesn't have a lot of confidence in herself. Can't say I blame her though, seems like she's had a hard life." Gavril mused. "I really care about her though..." Those were odd words coming from Gavril's mouth, despite that fact her words were quite sincere.

Larry nodded, listening and looking over her shoulder at Gavril. This really was a pretty big change from a while ago, and it was refreshing to see. Gavril seemed to get closer and closer to normal, no matter how terrifyingly violent she could be. "It's tough to build yourself up after a rough life, but having people who care about her is the best thing that can happen for that."

"It's kinda hard for me to admit, but I've got pretty deep feelings for her." Gavril's tone was one of embarrassment, another rare emotion for her. "We've got a lot in common, I guess."

"Really? Good to hear that something good's coming out of being here." Embarrassment didn't really suit Gavril, and it would be a stretch to call it cute.

"A lot in common though?" If Zinc was shy and humble, then it had be something a little more out there that they had in common.

"Eh? Oh, I guess it's mostly because we're both zombies and eat living flesh. Cuz of that it seems like we really understand each other."

Oh God she HAD to ask. It brought her to a stop for a moment, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, I... guess being the only two flesh-eating undead here would be something to bond over, wouldn't it?" Her shoulders slumped. Why her? Why here?

"Pretty much." Gavril laughed lightly. "It's an odd relationship, but I'm happy with how things are going. What about you, though. You got anyone you like?"

"Ah, well..." Larry started walking again, expression dropping like a rock - her mood went down a bit with it. "It's, uh. It's complicated... and it's not like she's around here any more anyways."

"That sucks, it really does. I mean Zinc left awhile ago, but she eventually came back." Gavril did know the feeling of loosing someone she cared about, even if she did eventually come back. "I feel your pain, girly."

"Yeah, well... this girl... she left, then came back, then left again, so she it might keep happening." Only now that Santana was in a relationship back home, it probably wouldn't work out here.

They arrived at her gun shop/house after a short walk, and Larry opened the door for Gavril. "I think I should just try doing something else with my time here."

Gavril walked inside without saying anything. Inside, she took a seat and sighed lightly. "Relationship shit gets pretty fucking depressing, doesn't it?"

Larry nodded, heading over to her coffee maker and working on getting a nice full pot brewing. "I think I was happier before I cared most of the time. I had my job, my hobbies, and my friends to focus on, and that was good enough."

"That's why I stayed out of all of that kinda stuff till I met Zinc. The second you care that much about someone else it usually only lets you down in the end."

"But only usually... and when it works out, it feels like everything was worth it." She still wasn't sure if it really was worth it when it went well; maybe she could go be a hermit in the woods and just not even risk romance any more. But damn, when she and Santana were actually together it was like some kind of high.

Larry sat down in a chair, letting the machine do its work.

"Can't say I know that feeling, so I'll take your word for it." Gavril had always lived for the thrill of all things visceral and primal, so if being in a relationship could produce such a feeling she imagined it would be something she wanted to experience at least once. "But eh, I'm sure you can find something to do to occupy your free time."

Larry shrugged, leaning back a little. "I've got my guns, but I wish I knew enough about cars to put one together. Other than that, I'm not sure what I can really do here. Build?"
